      Weirdest false awakenings?

I've had just some nights where they keep on coming! Like I thought I woke up in my room at 1:30, then I thought I woke up when I still lived in my old town, then I thought I woke up on an airplane... Anyone else have nights like this? If so, what kind of weird stuff were they?

Perhaps my weirdest was where I woke up in by garage bedroom. It was so nice, everything was where it was supposed to be, the sun was shining, it was great. Then it hit me.

MY BEDROOM IS NOT IN THE GARAGE. Instant lucidity!

It's amazing how real false awakenings are.

FAs? I do have them alot, but I can tell right off-hand if I am dreaming or not (though I really don't appreciate the prank my mom played on me by swapping my gnome statues, making me think I was dreaming when I really wasn't).

I had my first ever false awakenings this weekend. Two saturday one sunday. I find that the main theme of them is me getting up but having a terrificly hard time staying awake.

One on saturday I went outside to a beautiful sunset/rise in the east, but not where the sun usually is, and during a sunshower. Although i could only see and not feel the rain, I still got no lucidity.

The one on sunday I was again having trouble staying awake. I tried to fall asleep at my fridge to LD but couldnt sleep deep enough and soon gave up. Then I thought "Huh, it would be funny if THIS was a dream," then it turned out it was.

mmmm... False awakenings, gosh they get on my nerves some times. I had one where I kept waking up about every 5 min and each time I woke up, the blinds were cracked a little more. I didnt find this stange, I just thought it was the AC. then I saw a big white tree outside my window. didnt think anything of it. when I went to go shut my blinds I noticed a bottle of lotion next to my bed and my dream journal on my bed. I found it was kind of hard to fall BACK asleep and I wanted to fall asleep really fast and LD before my mom came in and woke me up. Then my mom woke me up. The whole FA lasted about 15 minutes. FIF-TEEN MINUTES! that is a-lot of time to do whatever the hell I want! If only i would've thought to do an RC.

I hate those. Usually with me it happens in nightmares. I've had nightmares before where I'll try to wake myself up only to go into 5 or 6 false awakenings that just go right back to the same nightmare in my own room. horrible stuff. Sometimes with false awakenings I even manage to open my eyes from trying so hard to wake up. I've actually had my brain take in the scene through my open eyes while I was still in a dream state and incorporate other things into the picture. One of the scariest things I've ever had happen while dreaming. *shudders*

Very funny!! At least that one wasn't that hard to figure out....except according to the RC.
A few times, I have had something like them anyways, where I think I get out of bed & read a book, though I am still asleep. Sometimes, if I am actually in a robe, I actually do read the book!!!

Oh, God, I've had some the weirdest FAs.

A few months ago, I woke up in a sleeping bag in the middle of a farm, near a street and a yellow light street lamp, just as a car was turning a corner and flashed its bright white headlights at me and drove away. I shifted around and tried going back to sleep. As I was lying there, trying to go to sleep, in the middle of this dark and damp field, I noticed a fancy house, totally unlike a farm house some distance away, and felt that it was my rich Aunt's house and I was in her field. I do not have a rich Aunt nor do I have any relatives who own a farm. I went back to sleep. Go figure.

A few other times I have woken up in friends' houses that I've never had, places I've never known. Other times I wake up on the side of street - in a bed, or at least something with blankets. Hmm, now that I think of it, I wake up next to a lot of streets. I wonder if there's some metaphorical significance with the "road."

Anyways - my weirdest FA of all happened years ago. I was at boy scout camp sleeping on a cot in a cottage in real life. I woke up in the dream completely normal. It was the last day and we cleaned everything up and got ready to go home. I went home, everything completely normal. And then I went to bed "that night" in my home. And then. Then. In the darkness of my room, I heard a loud, loud knock on the door. Whoever knocked didn't wait for my answer. Just as abruptly as they knocked they opened wide the door in one violent stroke. And walked in. Thunk, thunk, went those boots, forcefully and quickly across my room towards me. And there was a barely noticable mechanical noise, high pitched. It was a Borg! And it stuck me with its tentacles. It happened in 2-3 seconds. I had never been so caught off guard by a dream. And when I actually awoke, my eyes were still closed, and I could hear the slow heavy breathing and snoring of some of the other guys in the cottage - and for a split second - I thought I was on a Borg cube, trapped in some slot and caught in a room with other Borg. No, I was just still at camp.

Not far from the Borg, though.

waking up underwater in a coral reef...quite strange because it was the merman witha trident that woke me...i dont like false awakenings, they make me depressed because my dream is over for a second and i have to start conjuring my dream again
