      Controlling My Nightmare

Lucid #3! I was in the middle of a nightmare and took it over:

I was in my room just as I had left it when I went to sleep. I sensed that there was a presence in my room, but usually when this happens I look around and nothing's there. This time, I looked down under my bed and there was an alien under the edge of it. I flipped out (you want to scare me to death? make me thing there's an alien anywhere nearby). I started screaming \"Oh my God!\" And then something in my head clicked and I knew I was dreaming. I started telling myself I needed to wake up to get out of the nightmare--I could even picture myself on my bed thrashing around trying to force my eyes open (couldn't do it, though). But then I thought, \"Wait just a minute. This is my dream; I'm in control here.\" So I picked the alien up and threw it out the window. And then I woke up. [/b]
Anyone else thrown an alien out of a window? Or taken control of a nightmare?
      We break the
      ceiling and grin and gasp
      and redefine life
      for the ones who
      have merely lived it.

I sure did! Well... not the alien thing, but my very first LD started out as a nightmare. There was some kind of biological attack that covered the Netherlands with a thick layer of green smoke. Everyone was infected, including me. My father was killed and my brother and sister were missing, the only one still with me was my mother. She just sat in a large chair looking absentminded through a large window at a post-apocalyptic world. I felt utterly miserable. Then I started thinking, how strange it was that I couldn't remember anything about my father's death and how everything used to be just fine. It came to me that a thing like this would never happen in real life, so I did the nose RC. It was the biggest relief ever. I hugged my mother wanting to comfort her, and then I woke up.

The timing for my first LD couldn't have been better, because I normally never have nightmares as horrifying as this one...
