Holy f***ing hell!

It actually happened! I had a lucid dream, it was amazing! It started when I realized that my dead grandparents were alive again, at first I thought that this was some sort of special holiday where they could come to the land of the living (starting to sound like grim fandango lol) anyway, when I realized that they were just siting around like old people do, I realized that I must be dreaming because I knew they wouldn't waste their one day one earth. Then I rembered that earlier in my dream I was watching Iron Chef, so I thought: Hey! I dreaming, why don't I just fly to japan and make the Iron Chefs cook for me personaly, so I jumped out the window (through the glass like in the movies, no cuts or anything obviously) and I started flying around the back yard, it was tricky at first, but appearently, Peter Pan is correct when he says you have to belive you can fly, because as soon as I rembered I was dreaming, I flew over my fence and into the sky, it was a rush, truly amazing! I also saw lots of "Bird People" with feathers on who were flying with me, I started to think "Ok, I'll just fly to japan" but then I thought of all the other wonderful places I could go as well, then things changed for the worst, the cloudy morning scene I was flying in changed to a sunny afternoon, that was too much for my mind and I woke up, so I have 5 questions:

1: How can I do it again?

2: Is there anyway that I could have flown to Japan immidiately?

3: Would my grandparents really be that lazy?

4: Who were the bird people?

5: Do you think Kaga will be mad that I didn't make it to the show?

The first one is usually a life changing experience!

The answer to most of your questions is YES, it can happen again, Yes, you could have teleported to Japan instead of flying.

About your grandparents? dunno..

A lucid dream can be anything you want it to be.

Instead of teleportation, you should just beleive Japan is accross the street(much much less room for error).

It sounds like you weren't invited to the Iron Chef battle so I think Kaga would of been pissed if you did show up.

p.s. Mung Fish battle was the best.

Congrats dude!! As Seeker rightly said, the first LD is life changing experience. You will definately have more, but don't push yourself too hard or you will only scare them away! Make sure you get plenty of sleep and don't lie awake half the night trying to WILD (silly phallam).
You could always try the easy way of teleporting or summoning objects: just walk upto a door, think/say "When I open this door....I will enter Japan/ a pot of gold will be there (etc etc)", open the door, and enjoy!

IMO It wasn't your "real Grandparents"- just a pair of impersonating dream characters.

Other dream characters. If you want to know more, you could have asked them. Your "Grandparents" too.

you could try the old "behind the door" trick and imagine the streets of japan behind a door.
