3rd or 4th Lucid dream -- Getting Back Into it.

I started trying to lucid dream maybe 6 or so months ago but quit because I was more interested in getting drunk, school, and magic mushrooms. I now have a revived interested in it and I'll give a small overview of what my dream was like. The most vivid lucid I've ever had.

I was in a car shop and remember thinking how defined everything around me was. I was holding a shovel and remember thinking "Is this a dream...?" and suddenely thought "Holy shit, it is a dream!". After that, I was absolutely stunned that this dream was SOOOO incredibly like reality. Everything felt right. I went over to my roommate (in real life, he was in the dream too _p) and tried to make him say something. It didn't work, and I felt some sort of "buzz" and I knew I was losing it. So I put my hands on a car, closed my eyes, and concentrated on spinning, which I remembered was supposed to help. I wasn't able to hold it though, and woke up.

All in all, it's definitely giving me a renewed interest.

Hey there Wiggy! Congrats on the LD, and the renewed enthusiasm. Nothing quite like an unexpectedly vivid LD to pique your interest, eh?

Wouldn't say it was "unexpected" since I did read the first and second chapter in that "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" book the night before. It was stillt he best one I've had though.

      You can either:

      1) Study up and go first with an experienced mushroom hunter
      or
      2) Buy from other people. The actual chance of them selling you some shit that will kill you is so low, it's basically 0%. It's not worth it to sell bunk shrooms because they're not addictive and if word got out, you'd be out of business.

      And thanks

This is interesting because variations of the "spinning technique" have been in use for years as a method for waking oneself up, or, in the case of more experienced dreamers, for changing the dream scenario. Seems it worked for you in the first case.

i've never heard anybody call mushrooms addictive, but *shrugs*. personally, i find i never want to do them more than twice a week tops.

and this thread makes me sigh i missed picking season for the SECOND year in a row, working away from town. got back the week after the first severe frost.

i wouldn't recommend buying from anybody you don't completely trust Alucinor Architecton (assuming you didn't just ask your question out of detached curiousity). Sure, they might be mostly the right variety, but its very easy for inexperienced pickers to throw in some slightly/very poisonous ones by mistake. so even if people get high, and they continue selling them, you could be seriously damaging your liver without knowing it.

a case in point. me and my friend pick at a certain place. during picking season there are usually a hundred people there the day after a good rainfall. and i've probably caught a couple dozen ignorant people picking half psilocybe/half poisonous mushrooms, and most were planning on selling them. even when i kindly pointed out to them they were picking the wrong ones, many still said "whatever, they still get you high, and they won't kill anyone."

either make sure the person has performed 'spore prints' (if they don't know what you mean by this, forget them) or buy a kit and grow your own.

I hope you're not eating them twice a week. Once a month is sufficient.

You guys are concerned about getting the good stuff. You don’t have to worry about someone killing you, your doing that all by your selves. I have done plenty of drugs and psychotic substances in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Most of my friends are dead. It took me about 15 years of being clean before I had my first LD. LDs are better by far. Quite while you’re ahead. No pun intended. Get it right and listen to the experienced. You have so much to look forward to. If you need identity, Lean for good health the way it was meant to be. Should I say more?

I'm not doing crack, heroin, or meth. Only mushrooms. Chill. I can handle my psychedelics.

the only time i did them more was for a period about two years ago. i had an ample supply after picking season, and every experience just got better (this is when i was first learning to 'go with the flow' and have completely positive trips).

i probably averaged 2.5 trips a week for that time period.

now, i do them once every three months or so. i always make it an occasion. prepare myself mentally for about a week, and when the time feels right, visit my summer home i just love that feeling of "i'm back.."

i can appreciate why you're saying this, and i'm sorry for your friends.

i know somebody that did 11 gs of mushrooms and went completely insane.

however, that doesn't stop me from doing them (or planning to try other entheogens..). its all about respect. i've had horrible, unimaginably terrifying experiences where i was on the verge of losing a part of myself.

but those were all caused by disrespect, and arrogance.

entheogens have given me some of the most beautiful, spiritual, meaningful experiences of my life. they help me to see the interconnectedness of all life, whether i am high or not. i plan to use them for the forseeable future, until they have nothing else to offer me.

i am happy that you got clean though, and that LD's offer you a superior alternative
