removed finger and arm in lucid

This morning I had the first lucid in about three months. It came after sleeping three hours at night, followed by a two hour wake period, followed by a three hour nap. Only the last couple of days have I been really thinking about lucids and before sleeping on both occasions I told myself I would soon be having a lucid dream.

So I am in a hospital or nursing home of some sort when I realize I am dreaming. My mood lifts as it often does, and I can't help but smile. I am walking down a long hallway glancing left and right at the various rooms and patients. As I often do at the beginning of a lucid dream, I try something impossible to just confirm my dream state. In this case I decide to put my hand through a large dresser as I walk by. When my hand meets the dresser, it passes through the wood as if passing through water. As I look on, the dresser parts and then reforms behind my hand. I continue walking down the hall and the dream begins to fade.

As I feel the dream slipping, I remember to rub my hands together and say "I am lucid" a few times. This helps an I continue. At this point a remember something I have wanted to try for a while. I reach to my right hand, grab the index finger and pluck it off! It popped off like nothing and I tossed it away! I felt nothing and there was no blood. I then tried it again with my right arm. I reached up, grabbed my right arm just below the elbow and squeezed. It folded the way the cardboard tube at the core of wrapping paper would and snapped off!

Somehow, as I continued walking down the hall, my arm returned and I did not notice. So, I look into a waiting room and see a large aquarium with some fish inside. I walk up to the glass, press my face against it, and phase my head through the glass. No water spilled and I am standing there with my head in up to my shoulders while the people in the waiting room watch. The fish scatter and I stand there looking left and right. I then realized I could breath and took several deep breaths! It was so wierd.

I left the fish tank and kept walking down the corridor. The dream started to fade and then was lost.

When I woke up, I was so excited to have had another lucid dream, yet dissapointed because I knew if I had thought of the other lucid goals I knew I could have completed a bunch of them. (I have like ten goals and counting).

Anyway, hope you all enjoyed my little tale and I wish you luck with your dreaming.

      Man, that was pretty cool!

I've swam and breathed underwater a number of times, but never thought to stick my head through a fish tank!

What ws the reaction of the people in the room when you were doing all of this?
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Awesome stuff! Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "pull my finger".

I'll have to try to remember that for a reality check.

      Hehe that's awesome.
I'd say "you're pulling my leg", but it wouldn't be quite appropriate.

That's a cool lucid dream Longshwen, good that you had one after so long.

Reminds me of a time when I was in a dream and for no reason my arms just fell off, shoulders and all.
These are the tears that I dream about...

About three or four ran from the room, one woman screamed, and the rest just dropped thier jaws!

i've had a couple of dreams where i was missing teeth. i had a dream once that i got my front few teeth knocked out of my mouth in a fight or something. then i had a FA, and my teeth were still missing. so i went and told my brother that i had just had a dream that i lost my teeth, and then i woke up, and they were still gone! he thought that was pretty weird. then i woke up for real, and, of course, the first thing i did was check my mouth to make sure i had all my teeth!
