First LD was a WILD, strange?

Ok so about 3 weeks ago I experianced my first LD. I was spending the night at one of my buddies places and I woke up in the middle of the night and absolutely could not fall back asleep. I was concentrating so hard, maybe too hard to fall asleep and just couldn't do it. I was relaxing my body and everything. All the sudden I started to hear random voices in my head and thought I was going crazy, I tried to ignore them and just try to sleep. Eventually my whole body was like shutting down and I had this very strange sensation going through my whole body. I tried to open my eyes and I couldn't and I was fighting the sensation for maybe a few moments maybe a few minutes I really don't know. Finally I said to myself just let it overcome me and I did. Within seconds I opened my eyes, got out of bed, but something was different. The room was a little different. I felt as thought I just stepped out of my body, I walked to the door of the room and opened it and it was not my buddies house at all, it was this huge mansion, the most beautiful thing ive ever seen. I went around and explored, and saw my dad sitting on a couch in this nice cozy library (my father passed away about 2 years ago). So I instantly knew I was dreaming. I went up to him and had this long conversation with him which seemed SO REAL, I mean 10x more real than any other "dreaming convo" ive ever had with him. He was telling me how proud of me he was and how he was in "the afterlife" he never said heaven and he told me how amazing it was and to not worry for him. Afterthat I "woke up" but I really did not, the same thing happened, I got out of bed, went to the door and opened it and it was this beatiful mansion again, this time I walked by my dad and waved and then walked around and just explored, everyone I loved was there everything about it was just amazing, it was sooo "euphoric", I had total control over everyone and everything, I could have sex with whoever I wanted and do whatever I wanted and the same process repeated about 4 times until I finally woke up. The next couple days I was just in awe about the dream cause I never experianced anything like it. I didn't experiance another one until the other night when I woke up really early in the morning, and couldn't fall back asleep. I got the same sensation in my body and let it overcome me because I knew exactly what it was. I "stepped out" of my bed or body whatever it was and I was so excited that I was having this experiance again that it just faded away. Then in the morning I went online and right away researched this and found out i was experiancing a "WILD" which apparently is a more difficult form of lucid dreaming. I tried to induce one on myself this morning, which was partially successful, I got the "voices" going and the sensation but I got so excited that it just stopped. I was just wondering if it was unusual for a "newbie" like me to be so prone to these "WILDS". Does anyone have any helpful input? I want to maximize these lucid dreams because they are so fun.

      Welcome on board tornadoted!

Please take a look at our tutorial section. In there you will find a lengthy tutorial that some deviant wrote about WILD

Please take time to read the other tutorials as well, there are a number of induction techniques you can try.

As always, please feel free to post any questions you like or PM someone. Anyone here will be glad to help.

I was just wondering if anyone could let me know if this was strange, because I started to have another WILD early this morning, I got all the sensations going and everything but then it suddenly stopped. I just think its wierd because I have never had a legitmate lucid dream, I have only have these WILDS, which I see many people have a hard time obtaining. I guess I just want to hear an experianced LDer's input on this, maybe it's a good thing I really don't know. It's just wierd that the only time I ever have a LD, is through a WILD early in the moring. Let me know what you think please.

i'm not picky about grammar or spelling, but just letting you know that its really hard for some people's eyes to concentrate on one long, unbroken post like this. if you'd break it up into reasonable paragraphs i would read it, but its just too much damn work...

though i'll reply to your title. yeah, its a little strange your first LD was a WILD, but not unheard of.

      Welcome

Some people are natural WILDers, others aren't. If it works for you use it. Also like Seeker said, check the tutorials, its not unusual for techniques like this to work better in the morning.

You should consider yourself very lucky to have been able to mainttain control like that, especially since you are a newbie. Even I find it quite difficult to keep concentration and I often fall asleep after the voices and vibrations (of course I do thi at the beggining of the nihgt) Good job man, this is a good step for you. And Good job on talking with your father Feels good to talk to someone who you have lost...
God, grant me the courage the change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference...
