      YAY first "proper" LD

Yes, another person had their first lucid dream last night.. me!

This is not counting other dreams where I simply thought "This is a dream..." (before I'd encountered this site). This time I actually tried to control the dream.

It was a Dream Induced Lucid Dream (I don't know if that's the correct acronym. Oh well...) and the thing that tipped me off was seeing Gandalf in my loungeroom. He had a strange pointed ring on his finger, and I touched it and got a sudden jolt. Then I realised, "Hey- I must be dreaming!" And Gandalf said "Well done." Then I teleported straight into my bed, but I knew this wasn't a false awakening, or rather it was one that didn't fool me
I looked straight at my digital beside clock, while chanting "Yes! YES! FINALLY!" to myself, and of course it constantly fluctuated in random times. Surprisingly, the contrast and background also fluctuated, and different brand names also appeared.
I had predetermined that if I had a lucid dream that night (I was originally attempting WILD again, but with more on that later), I would get up and put on a dressing gown in case I was cold. I also wasn't quite convinced that I wouldn't really be moving my RL body around, so I decided next to check the palm reality check AND my wristwatch, just to be sure. Still in bed, I managed to force my thumb through my palm (a truly enlightening experience 8) ) and my wristwatch went crazy as expected.

I then proceeded to get my dressing gown on, and around about this time it was suddenly bright outside, like it was morning. I knew that when I had last checked the real time it was 3:30 am, so this struck me as an effect of a lucid dream. I decided that I wanted there to be snow outside, and leapt at the window hoping to pass straight through the wall. I hit my head on the window, and kinda started losing lucidity... next thing I knew, a window that doesn't even exist in my RL room appeared on a wall that leads to my brother's room, and I could see my mum walking towards me (outside) saying "Goodmorning! Did you sleep well?". Trippy stuff, but it convinced my dreaming self that it was RL...

This whole lucid dream was most likely because the entire day I had been planning to attempt a WILD again that night. I drank heaps before bed again and woke up at 1:40 am to go to the bathroom. The usual pre-SP tingling happened, but the next stage seemed rather strange. Instead of the POP and the WHOOSH, I just got a massive increase in heart rate and pumping of blood to every part of my body. This made breathing shallow and interrupted, and it really annoyed me because I knew I was completely relaxed. So not fair... I even waited for like 2 hours afterwards, trying to do the usual "letting my guard down" etc. but it merely resulted in normal dreams. That is, until I picked up on a dream sign!

Well that concludes this chapter of my submissions. Thanks for reading
I always lie. That means that statement must be a lie. But then it was the truth. So then it was false... etc.

      Re: YAY first "proper" LD

Awesome. As for the heart beat thing this has happened to me both times attempting to WILD. I am convinced at this stage that I am actually in a dream or damn close but i am just too excited and it wakes me up, especially after reading some research papers on lucidity.com that show heart rate and persperation go way up when you enter an LD...
