I have lucid dreaming terrors

I have weird dreams,I am aware that it is a dream, but it is seems VERY real. It freaks me out. The last dream I had few days ago, when I was aware that I was still sleeping but my consciousness was awake. I am lying in the bed, my body is paralyzed. I can not move it, except my eyes. I can see the room. I always begin to panic at this moment and try my hard to make up. The more I try the less successful I am. Plus I beginning to hear awful women scream very very loud every time when I try ti wake myself up. I don't know how long it last, but then I really wake up. But it wasn't so weird dream compare to others I had.
Few weeks before that dream I had a dream, in the evening about 5 pm. I woke up in the bed, and thought that I had very nice nap, longer than I expected. So I lying in the bed thinking to get up. I can hear my husband talking on the phone in the next room. I still recall all his world.( I told him after) But the weird thing was, that "someone" took me from the bed and "hung" me on the middle air. I freaked out. Because I though that I already woke up. I can hear what is going in my house. I can hear TV and other stuff. I know that from the spot where I am "hanging" I can see that there light in the living room. But I can't control anything, I can not call anyone to come and rescue me. I am just hanging in the mid air praying to God to let me wake up, because it so bizarre and it truly make me afraid. Than I woke up. these kinda dreams happened almost every month, when my body steel asleep but my consciousness is fully awake. Any suggestion, what should I do about it? I would prefer if I can make it stop somehow...

Hello there,
what you experience is called Sleep Paralysis or SP. It is a relatively common state for many lucid dreamers. I don't want to go into great detail since I advise you to search the forum and the net about this state. You will find loads of information.

Sleep Paralysis is what your body puts you in when you dream so you don't act out your dreams. Now it can happen that you are still in sleep paralysis while your dream is over and you're basically feeling awake in your room. What is common for this state is all kind of halluscinations - sounds, feelings, dreamlike things, presence of unknown evil and more. Typically these halluscinations seem exactly as real as real life.

Now here's my adivse:
The most important thing about sleep paralysis is losing your fear of it and everything that accompanies it for you. Fear is a catalyst. You need to know that nothing can harm you in this state and nothing can happen. There's is absolutely NO reason to be afraid because no matter what happens, you lie safely in your bed. When you lose your fear the negative halluscinations will probably not appear at all anymore. In fact, you can have very positive or funny halluscinations in this state. Some people hear music or experience bodily vibrations that they send to certain parts of their body.

If you find yourself in this state, you should relax - relax your body, let go off your body and relax your mind and thoughts. This is very important. You shouldn't "try" to wake yourself up from this state and you shouldn't "try" to move your body. Those are very counter-productive. They can increase your fear and they will lengthen the time until you wake up. If you really want to wake up, you need to know how the state works. The more input you give the state - and this imput is thoughts, emotions and visualisations - the longer it will last because your brain is in dream mode and all these inputs will make this "dream" stay stable. If you want to wake up, relax and do nothing, don't be afraid and soon enough you should be awake. It is important that you "give in" to the state - in a positive way. I mean, you see what happens when you try and fight it. Your subconsciousness actually "wants" you to stay in the state because you are asleep and sleep should be kept upright. So it sends you halluscinations to induce your strongest feeling - fear, therefore keeping the dream stable and realistic. Don't give in to the fear and feel one with your body asleep and your mind awake. It is under your control.

In the next step, I advise you to be friends with sleep paralysis. It can be a very cool state of body and mind and you can induce very high quality lucid dreams and OOBEs from it, easily. I experience it as often as 5 times a week and I grew to love it. I just try to step into a dream or keep the state up for longer times to experiment with the feelings.
I hope this helped. I can understand that this must be terrifying if you don't know what it is but I hope you can lose your fear in the first step and then enjoy it.

welcome to Dreams Views by the way...

I say you should see a doctor about this, becuase those screams comming from a lady must be so horrifying!! I dont think what you are experiencing is normal to LDing.

I heard of people having the same thing happen to them, but never the screaming

Screams are auditory halluscinations very typical to SP when you'Re afraid. And Lucid-Dreamer, that had absolutely no reference to the topic.

Hello everyone!
Thanks for all the information. I never knew anything about sleep paralysis before.
I want to share another wild dream with you all.

Here it goes:
I woke up in the middle of the night and tried to fell back to sleep. So I am lying there and then I hear a voice. I know that is an Evil voice- he asks my permission to take away my nephew with him.
I thought: hmm -strange- maybe I just imagine it, Why an Evil voice needs my permission. If he comes to take away my nephew it would do it without me telling him it's ok. He needs to ask my cousin- she is my nephew's mother. I am not important. So I am working myself out of this Evil voice thought. Than it says again: -I want you to let me take him!
I got scared... It's really talk to me! What do I do? Am I am going crazy? Is it how schizophrenic people feel?
I am lying really quietly waiting... Nothing happens.
Then I begin to think what if I just tell him ok go take my nephew - leave me alone. I don't care. Anyway I think that it's not true -I don't believe in this things. So it would let me sleep- and tomorrow I even would not remember it. Than I thought about my cousin and she truly believes in all this supernatural things. So I said:- No I can't let you take my nephew, go away.

I wished I put it more nicely...

Some force took me from my bed and began to fly me in the circle in the room.
I was terrified. I never expected it. I wanted to scream but I could not. I wanted to pray, but I did not remember any prayers. Than I remembered that if you will curse it might help.
Nothing seems to be working. I tried everything many times: Praying , Cursing and trying to scream to wake up all the house. Nothing works! I was making round after round around the room. I was passing the furniture: TV, Shelves, bed- trying to grab on something and put myself on the ground.
But I could not reach on anything. Only slightly with the tips of my nails. I made many circles after circles that I even memorized all the small toys collections on the TV when I was passing by. I never knew that my cousin has that many small figures on her TV.

Than I have a block hole. I don't remember how it all ended. But I remember waking up at 5 am, in sweat. sitting up. I never went to bed after this dream. I went and had a cigaret and made tea, and watched TV until everyone woke up.

Then I checked all the figurines on the TV- they all been the same as from my dream. I knew every small detail about them.
Did I really flew?
How come I know all this details otherwise? I've seen them on the TV but never examine them before that closely. Weird.

After this dream- my cousin forced me to get baptized
