First WILD- Incredibly fast, without vibrations

Last night, I had to finish reading a book, and so I went to bed around 12. I set my alarm clock to wake me up at four, so I could finish reading the book.

When I got up at four, I read for an hour untill I had too strain just to keep my eyes open. I was sleep deprived, and was ready to fall asleep in an instance. Somehow a thought in my mind sparked, and remembered WILDS, and thought that this would be a good time to try one.

I think I must have set a record for fastest entry into a WILD. Because in less than five seconds, after I closed my eyes and began to focus on WILDing, I began to see faint blurred images though my eyelids. The imagery continued and intensified, and I felt I was being pulled into the dream world. At this point I began to feel that a heavy weight was on my chest, I lost awareness of my breathing, and felt as if I was no longer breathing. This frightened me, and I withdrawed from the dream. But as I faded, I thought about what everybody had said on this forum, nothing can hurt you, except for your imagination, and that everything is perfectly safe, so I relaxed and Immediately reentered into the hypnogogic imagery.

Once I felt awareness of my body, I was in the Fetus Position, in empty dream space, I stood up, and was relieved to find, I was in my dream body, and had entered the dream world. I do not remember what else happened.

All my memories of this are incredibly fleeting, as are all my dreams. I know that all this happened, just as in my dreams, but I cannot recreate the experience in my mind.

Now as to the nature of this WILD, I find very interesting. There were no vibrations, no "signs," just immediately after closing my eyes and focusing on WILDing, I immediately began to have HI, and enter into the dream. I know that I was incredibly, incredibly tired. I had only had four hours of sleep, and had been up reading for an hour, straining my will, brain and eyes.

The idea I have explored so far, is that it was something like augmented dream re-rentry. I commonly re-enter, dreams when I fade from them, becoming aware that I am dreaming, and rentering into a lucid dream. I wonder if my brain, could possibly remain in that borderline state, never yet emitting true "conciouss waves," but remaning in the potential to quickly re-enter a dream, as soon as I should fall asleep.

Could my brain hold that strange "limbo" state. As I continued to force its exertion, and willed it to work, it grew more exhausted, and pushed even harder to reenter the rem phase. When I went back to sleep, I was incredibly exhausted (could barely, barely, keep my eyes open) I had the ability to fall asleep in seconds.

Perhaps if I held this state, I did not enter into a WILD, as normally would happen, because my mind was asleep, and I should have fallen asleep before the HI happened. The best WILD conditions are to have an asleep body, and an awake and conciouss mind. But, possibly what happened was about to fall asleep, but I entered into the dream state so incredibly quickly (seconds), that my mind became aware of what was happening as the result of my intention to WILD.

Any thoughts about the nature of this WILD? I am pretty baffled and amazed.

sounds like what happened is that you were sitting still reading for so long that your body began to get into the near stages of SP, your mind was also in the perfect state for WILDs, (your body trying to sleep but your being aware) Its weird really, once you've done enough WILDs you can sense with your body how long its going to take to enter a dream,

you just happened apon the perfect circumstances for a WILD, how you get to the state of extremely fast WILDing still elludes me even after having hundreds of successful WILDs, all types of factors are involved, the ammount you moved around the previous day, the ammount of sleep youve had for the past few days, your physical state of wellness etc.... the fastest that iv ever WILDed was like in a minute, although the dream was really shitty and i lost it pretty fast

WILDs are tricky things, but once youve had a few they become really easy to do

      Strange things happen with WBTBs.

Twice now, I've closed my eyes, and stood up in a dream five seconds later.

That happens to me ALL the time when I take a nap. It's easier to lucid dream through naps then it is during a full length night sleep. You tend to enter REM WAY faster. so yea. I do that very often too.
