      My first sign of lucidity!

Ok, I've been reading about lucid dreaming now and trying various things for the past couple weeks, and just last night I had a very bizarre dream.

I was working at a cookie shop near my home in an open field (note: I live out in the country where there aren't many shops in the middle of crop fields ). For some reason we were at war with the other cookie shop and I was walking around some back roads looking for help... someone gave me an envelope full of money. After that I just appeared at the other cookie shop along with some of my co-workers and we killed everyone there ninja-style.

After that little episode, I was in a biology lab with some friends of mine mixing together some petri dishes of some kind of micro-organisms. When I looked out the window, I was still in the same field where the cookie shop was. If I was good enough I probably would have realized that I was lucid by now eh? Anyways, as I was walking home, the neighbourhood looked very strange to me. I asked someone where my house was and I was taken to my house... my house had no outer wall and right then I KNEW that I was dreaming. The dream just faded away and I woke up.

I've read that often newbies get too excited and just wake up once they become lucid but the dream faded and I woke up almost instantly. I don't think I had any time to get excited.

Yep, that's how it works, that went exactly my first "LD." It's when you wake up before you even realize what happened, I bet you were rather pissed when you woke up . So yes, it sounds like you were on the right track. Keep up what your doing and you should attain Lucidity in no time. Just remember you need to stay calm. Rather than, right after becoming lucid, going crazy and fulfilling every fantasy your insane draming mind can think of, just slow down and go with the flow. Also it doesn't hurt to go to bed with a plan of what you'll do when Lucid

My first few times of becoming lucid I just got really excitied and woke up. I was happy that it had happened though... The funny thing is that was about a year ago, then I stopped recording my dreams really trying to have lucid dreams... Then recently i started recording my dreams again, not doing RCs or anything, and the other day I had my first full on lucid dream, like iwas in complete control of myself over an extended period. I remeber thinking to myself "wow im totally here, i'm compltetely mentally present, except that im flying over the ocean".
