      Levitating objects in your LD

I hope this topic hits home with others here. I was in the back room of my house with a friend watching a movie (I'll say more about the movie shortly). I must have fallen asleep without noticing because when I 'awoke' I was in my back room still but my friend was gone. I found this strange but concluded he might have left after I had fallen asleep. I reached for my lighter that was sitting infront of me on the table. To my surprise the lighter shifted forward as I reached for it. After this happened I sat and thought for a short time about what had just happened. I was more confident I was dreaming now but I was still not sure because the room was completely convincing, everything was exactly replicated. I reached for my lighter again and again it moved. I saw other small objects, I am not positive but I think they were individual match sticks. When I put my finger by them they shot off the table and into the air. I then returned back to my lighter and this time I was ready to push this to see how much I could do. I placed my hand above the lighter and levitated if off the table, once in the air i started to spin the lighter in a tight circle. I then placed my left hand below the lighter and I was able to turn the lighter so that it was now verticle. I continued to spin the lighter for sometime, I was greatly entertained by all of this. I heard my family off in the kitchen so I put down the lighter and went to tell them what was happening, I was still uncertain if this was a dream or if I was awake. However, once I started talking to them they ignored me and I walked into our living room where something caught my attention and then I knew I was dreaming. After I was sure it was a dream I floated off my feet for short period of time and then I awoke. To my amusement my friend was still at my house and he was sleeping too. I even tried moving my lighter as a reality check. Coming back to the movie that was playing, the movie is Primer. It's an independent film about these two engineers who are trying to develope a device to lower the gravity around an object. If you haven't seen it I high recommend it, and they end up with something completely different than what they set out to make. I just found it interesting that I was watching this movie when I fell asleep and I am wondering if it had some kind of impact on my dream. All comments welcome, dream to the depths!!

I think that is cool. I haven't levitated things since I was young. You reminded me of something I need to try again now that I'm older. BTW welcome to the site !

      Levitating

      Hi i_never_woke_up,

You say the movie was about lowering the gravity around objects. I definitely think it is possible to influence (the subject of) your dream just before you go to bed, by thinking about something for about 15 minutes or so. This probably happened to you too, while watching the film, because you say you found that concept (manipulating gravity around objects) interesting.

Perhaps you're good at this, you could try it by chosing something you would like to dream about, maybe that really fun thing you would like to try and then think about that before you go to sleep. Some people even use this to solve personal problems or choices (shall I rent the new appartment?). If you dream about it in a positive or negative way, you could let that influence your decision, because it could be an indication how you feel about it.

Personally I never really Levitated anything in my (Lucid) dreams, but I did fly once. Your levitating could be a cool dreamsign btw.

EDIT: Oh and did your friend dream anything (similar)? Imagine that

      Happy dreaming Ambi

Accually, The last lucid dream ive had "about 2 years ago" Was really cool because I knew it was a lucid dream and all i could think was "Try and do a bunch of cool things before i wake up" One of the things i did was levitate other objects around me. I couldn't levitate myself though
