      Dream Trigger Questions....

Ok last night Feb 22 2006 i had a dream (non-lucid) but my and a bunch of mates were being chased by some kind of giant cyclops creature. I will go into detail.

We were being chased by a giant cyclops. i ran one way my friends ran another. i got knocked hard into a wooden pole and fell to the ground hard, i was weak but just able to move. My friends watched me from a hiding spot, the cyclops looked for the rest of my friends thinking i was dead. I looked at my friends from their hiding spot weakend and scared.

That is all i will tell you because that is all you need to know. i remind you that dream was NOT lucid.

Can someone tell me why i didn't know it was a dream at the sight of the cyclops?

      Thanks

because we tend to accept our dreams as much as we accept our thoughts. Even the more bizzare ones.
I suggest using dreams signs that can be used in waking life. For example I always look different in my dreams (whether it's my hair or my clothes) so when ever I notice myself or look in the mirror i perform a reality check. This conditions my mind to question reality whenever I am seeing myself.
It's not just the cyclops you didn't question; How often do you get hit with a wooden pole? Or watch your friends hiding? Or run away in fear? These things rarely happen in waking life so it is hard to perform a reality check regularly enough for your mind to question what is going on.
      Hope this helps
      Are you dreaming or awake?

the subconsious has you to believe fantasy for reality. but when you become lucid, you basically dont believe what your subconsious is 'telling' you.
