      Hey there Shyne!

Don't worry about not becoming lucid. You've taken a huge first step in just performing a reality check during your dream -- I think it means that when your Dad reminded you, there was at least a small part of yourself questioning reality at that point -- it just was kept supressed this time. Just keep practicing, and you will learn to recognize that feeling of being in a dream, and sieze it.

I am the queen of stupidty when it comes to reailty checks. Ppl been screaming at me it's a dream, I done 3 reailty checks which none failed and still fail to relize I'm dreaming. But if that reaily check usally works for you in other lucid dreams keep using it, if not trying doing antoher reailty check. I alwayeds like the wacth one, it never failed to change for me

My reality checks are well, I don't really need to check (because it's obvious).
I went to bed, I sleep, dream starts.
"Hey i'm not in my bed"
      Lucidity starts

If I for some chance would not be lucid, and would end up in my bed in a dream, i'd simply instantly see something is out of order (in which case I most probably have used one of the checks from that link)

And else, I'm already lucid, but that's not what we're talking about here

Through my own personal experience I have found that performing 100's of RC throughout the day actually gave me less lucid dreams.
      Let me explain.
I got to the stage where I was performing a lot of RC's to the point where it became more of a habit then an actual questioning of my concious state. I would look at my digital watch then carry on with whatever I was doing. The trick with RC's in to stop whatever it is you are doing and seriously question whether or no you are dreamig or awake. Look around, imagine what you would do if you were actually dreaming. visualize scenarios in your mind. If you want to fly in your next LD, picture this in your mind after your waking RC.
You could do 1000's of LDs in one day but if your mind is occupied on something else chances are the same thing will happen in your dreams.
      Are you dreaming or awake?

I've had 55 lucid dreams in 8 months, and not a single one of those was the result of a reality check. I pretty much stopped doing reality checks altogether after my 3rd lucid dream. Reality checks don't seem to work very well for me.

The only time I use a reality check is when I'm pretty sure that I am already dreaming and want to confirm it.

Once, I was having a dream and I actually told someone I was dreaming about them, but I didn't really realize it. I just said it and didn't become lucid. I about killed myself over that one.
