That's EXACTLY what I'm worried about.

I have my reasons for being concious of what I do in my dream. In one incident, I had a non-LD where I was slapping a dream character. I ended up slapping my wife on the other side of the bed!

Her response:

Me:
I wouldn't be too worried. We have dreams for so many reasons and people should try to be at least a tiny bit understanding. If you are not having a lucid dream then your subconscious is in control - and even if you are LD'ing your subconscious still is for the most pulling the shots - and if I know one thing about the subconscious its that it can be quite unconstrained by the same standards we consciously are aware of.

Obviously slapping your wife is something that you don't want to do! However I have a friend who I used to live with in my last house. His room was next to mine and as he has described to me he is a very restless sleeper. He tosses and turns very violently and I could often hear his fist thumping the wall very hard as he spun around in his sleep. He's even accidently thumped girlfriends in his sleep. It's pretty embaressing for him, but he's got used to it. It's particularly ironic as he's one of the gentlest people I know.

As Burns says, don't volunteer any info, some dreams can stay private!

ps burns, I love the little doggie spy
