Better Dream Recall, but no lucidity.

Last night, I tried the 61 point technique and relaxed myself, but my eyes always open just a little and it distracts me. Then I woke up at about 2:50. Which never happens, so I said perfect, let me try to relax myself. So I did, and to no avail. SO eventually, I gave up after about 45 minutes. Then after having a hard time going back to sleep, I awoke at about 4:15, went back to sleep. Then I woke up a few times between 4:15 and 5:00 and 5:00 to 6:00. Usually I wake up at 6:10. Then I woke up at 6:15 and I remembered 3 different dreams. Now, I usually only remember a dream once every blue moon. Usually, months and months at a time. So anyone have a theory about this?
Hi, I'm a beginner here, so if there's any tips, please feel free to tell me.

      Hey there Matt, and welcome!

Yeah, it's pretty simple really. If you wake up during, or immediately following, a REM sleep period, you are much more likely to remember the dream you just had. You didn't say what time you went to bed, but I suspect that you had most of your deep sleep out of the way by the time you started waking up frequently, so most of that time was probably spent in REM sleep.

Congratulation! You've discovered the magic of WBTB! Now, if you can combine that with MILD or WILD, you should be on your way to lucid dreams.

I have something similar going on. I've had several lucid dreams in the past where either myself or someone else would tell me I am dreaming. Each time I knew I was about to wake up and that was also stated by myself or the other person. I didn't have a clue that there was a name for those kind of dreams and when I tried to explain it to friends of family they look at me like I am crazy. Well I cam on this site read a bunch of stuff about 2 nights ago and attempted lucid dreaming. The first night I remember having 2 dreams and i woke up between each and realized that it wasn't what i was trying to dream about but on the third dream ( same night ) I succeeded. I didn't have control of the dream, but I dreamed about what I wanted to and it was very realistic. Also I did the thing where you tell youself to wake up without an alarm I set my alarm for 603am just incase but I woke up at 600 and 42 seconds... this morning I woke up at the exact same time. Again I had 3 dreams this time 2 of the 3 we on the topic I wanted I just haven't gained control yet. Before this I usually remember one or two dreams a week. I see already a huge progress and I know that I am so close!

Well, I still haven't achieved lucidity. But I remembered 5 dreams from this morning, so I guess I'm getting closer. I hope I get an LD soon. I really want one.

Don't get discouraged. But also know that it sometimes can take months of practicing techniques and keeping a dream journal before having an LD. Just keep at it.
