So I had this dream where I THOUGHT I was lucid, but I don't know that I actually was. I may have only been lucid inside of another dream (i.e. I was dreaming inside a dream and realizing that I was dreaming, but was not aware of the other layer of dreaming between myself and reality.) Is there a term or something for that? Here is an entire summary of the dreams I had (all within a 2 or 3 hour nap), with the relevant section in bold.

So the first part of it was sort of Shenmue-like. I was in a city that sort of resembled Hong Kong, and I had to go find this guy. And somehow I knew this guy who was a friend of mine and could take me there (all of this stuff was probably caused by watching too many chinese martial arts movies.) He keeps telling me how beautiful his sister is and how much she needs a husband or something. The way there was very complicated so I followed the guy, and I might have had to fight some people too, I'm don't remember. We get there and of course, it's this darkly lit, upscale, asian place, somehow, Evan is with us too. I make the first order and the girl who stands at front and takes the orders (the sister my good friend was telling me about) seems really hostile to me, and we have a battle of words (don't remember details.), but I eventually get the order in. I'm with a sub-party of three, and when I pick up the order, I give her a 20, but it's actually 32 - I didn't expect it to be that high, so I said "are you sure this is my order?", and the girl replies in a very hostile tone "YES!! Of course it's your order!! Pay up!!", so I was like, "alright alright", and took a $25 bill out of my wallet, just to be an asshole, and gave it to her. She was pissed, but she accepted it. I turned back to my friends and we laughed hysterically about it, and then I was like, yeah, $25 dollars WOULD make more sense though, since that way both coins and bills would run 1-5-10-25... and people agreed with me, but were like, "yeah, but that's the way it is, too bad." So then, Evan, another guy, and I, all three sit down at what's like a bar or something. Evan was on the left, the other guy was on the right, and I sat in the center. Some guy said something about chopsticks. At this point, I don't remember ANYTHING for a while.

Then, at another point, I was walking home from this same place for a while. It was very Shenmue II-ish, I was like "shoot, it's 3AM, I really have to get back and go to sleep, but this will take forever since I don't know the city and someone guided me through here the first time..." So I went, and it turned out that the path back was a straight line through the city. On my way back I passed a lot of buildings that were like, streetfighting buildings, you'd go inside and there'd be people holding ring fights, a lot like in shenmue. I remember some people on the street yelling at me and throwing stuff at me because I was a fighter and they hated that I brought chaos to the streets or something, but I don't know the details anymore. That was on my way back. Also on my way back, I came across one of the buildings I had fought at before (I guess I fought here earlier, because I thought I had at this time, but now I don't recall when the previous fight was.) The guy fighting in there was a master though, and I had just barely beaten him last time. I was a little concerned as to whether I would be able to win a second time. I walked in, though, and we fought, but it was very strange. I defeated him in about 10 seconds with a continuous combo of hard karate-style moves like upward elbows and punches from horse-stance, and he didn't land a single blow on me. It was almost like watching someone else (heihachi comes to mind) do it for me. After winning there, this part of my dream must have faded out a bit too, I don't remember any events past this on the same timeline.

The THIRD part of the dream is where I may have gone lucid. I was driving somewhere, and I don't know why but I could sort of feel my body asleep in bed too (whether it was a real bed or a dreamed bed, who knows.) I had a feeling that if I opened the my car door it would just be plain old real life again, but I did it anyway (I guess I stopped the car somewhere in there.), and it was just like through my windshield... so I got out, and walked around, surprised that I was able to. I was in a really grassy field with this HUGE tree in the center... among other things. The area had a pretty suburban feel to it. Another guy was there too, apparently I knew him. Anyway, it was nice out, so I tried to fly. The first just was just normal. But then I tried what I do for most skills that I haven't mastered - I focused on nothing, emptiness, nothing except for flying, and blocked everything out of my mind. I ran, jumped, and sure enough, I took off. I could jump about as high as the huge tree (maybe a 15 story building), and float around there for a little while, but I always eventually came back down. I came down once and the guy that was there was like "you're lucid dreaming, huh? And I was like "I guess so, check out this flying!!!", so I flew a few more times to show him, and he was like "nice work! that really is impressive."

(the thing about that lucidness is that.. I THOUGHT I was lucid, but really, I didn't even get that I didn't know that guy in real life, and I still accepted a bunch of retarded stuff about where I was and how I got there..)

So then, I have no idea how I get here, but I wake up in a basement that's like my friend Chris's, and I'm with a bunch of people who are either sleeping or watching TV. I recognized everyone who was asleep because I had seen them in my "dream", and I hadn't seen anybody that was awake in my dream. I was like "oh, that's cool", and I walked upstairs where I think maybe his mom said something to me? Either way, I was thinking about going home, but I'm pretty sure I woke up before then...
