My first LD experience... On New Years Day

      This happened January 1 2006.
I had been partying with friends all through new years eve, at about 4am me and 4 others left my house to go to another friend's house, we walked about 2 miles, in the cold night but it was okay because we had all had some alcohol, anyway to cut a long story short, we arrived at my friend Dom's house at about 6am and, at around 8am i was making my way home alone, and i was completely exhausted having been awake for roughly 20 hours.

As soon as i got home I went up stairs and collapsed on my bed, of course i knew i was just about to get into a deep sleep but just before i slept, i just thought about what i would dream about, and i was imagining some things then I fell asleep, the next thing i can remember is being on a football pitch, playing a game with my school team, and i was thinking of new years eve and what i had done, then i thought to myself why was i playing football, it's new years day, then it occured to me i was dreaming, i found it very odd at first, and i just walked along the pitch looking around and taking everything in.
A football rolled in front of me and i took a step back and struck the ball with all my strength, the ball flew far into the distance untill it was no longer visible, I looked behind me and all the other players were shouting at me, telling me to go get the ball.

I ran over the fence around the pitch, and I jumped up to see over it, but I kept rising and rising untill i about 10 meters off the ground, this is where i realised I could do anything, then I flew around for a while over the area near my school, I located the ball inside a bin on the street, I flew straight towards the bin but i was going to fast, I collided with te bin and then i woke up...

This experience was amazing to me and i had'nt really spoken to people about it before, but as i was surfing wikipedia.com i came across an article on lucid dreaming, which led me here and then i knew i had, had a lucid dream, i'm very anxious to have another lucid dream but i have not acheived anything yet, any tips, should i try staying up for 20 hours again? (lol)

Wow! That sounds like an awesome dream! You were even able to maintain lucidity for a good amount of time as well.

You found the right place to learn more about LDing. Good luck!

Yup, many people don't get to experience something like flying on their very first lucid dream. Good stuff!

I'd suggest centering around 8-9 hours of sleep and trying some of the techniques posted around the forum. Checking out the Tutorial section might help.
Also, start up a dream journal. Getting into the habit of writing your dreams down will help you discover more dream signs and hints, such as realizing you were on a football field when it was New Years.

I would have given anything to experience that on my first one! That sounds so cool.
