Thread: When i do an RC with a mirror.....

if i do an Rc with a mirror, what happens? who has done this before? was there any creepy images, or person behind you ?


i need this info...... my room is full of mirrors!

ive never did a reality check with a mirror, but ive looked into one before, all ive seen was myself normally with some facial distortion. Other then that, i guess you see what you expect. but as a reality check, it doesn't effect me, but it might other people

Recently I had a successful RC with a mirror but I wouldn't call it reliable, and I don't know a constant use of a mirror although there's bound to be one. The other night I did the nose pinching RC but it wasn't working, I still couldn't breath. But something told me that it was wrong, cuz it still felt very dream like. So I looked in a mirror while I did it and my fore arm was missing in the reflection, while my hand still pinched my nose. So I was pretty sure at that point that something was "off." I mean it was there, but I couldn't see it in the reflection. But another time, probably that same night, I had a pretty disturbing image (well, disturbing after the fact, in the dream it was perfectly normal) where my mouth was a strange hole in my face, kinda like a giant nostril and the mental image still gives me chills. It didn't serve as a RC, in fact it was just whatever in the dream. I think it was probably based off some video game I had played recently, Resident Evil 4 particularly, where there's monsters like that. I get all kinds of weird effects when I look in a mirror, which I hear is pretty common. Sometimes I'm my younger/older self, sometimes I'm some random celebrity or actor (one time I was the third kid on "Malcolm in the Middle"- Dewie or Stewie or something like that), sometimes I'm short sometimes I'm tall. Sometimes its just my reflection, which tends to work as the best RC, when I look in the mirror and see myself I sometimes find myself thinking "Isn't this a dream? I should see something weird. Oh wait, if this is a dream, I must be dreaming!"

If my face looked all weird i would freak out

I used a mirror shortly after becoming lucid recently. The face looking back at me was a black female... which then changed to white. It was a kick.

I've never tried using a mirror for an RC though. I've read about people who always touch mirrors as an RC, because your hand will usually pass right through them if you are dreaming.

I looked in a mirror while lucid about a year ago. I wish I'd a computer diary as would be able to find that dream now. Hard to remember, was very interesting tho. I know I looked quite differant, (which was great). Think I may have been wearing a suit (totally not me!)I became lucid in a room full of mirrors.
Man I'm narcissistic, or maybe just very reflective

for years i have been unable to look in a mirror while lucid without waking up or anyway losing a dream.
don't think i could use it as a RC... i still have to approach very carefully to mirrors to keep the dream on!

I think this lucid thing is a bunch of poppycock, maybe you all are lying.
