      First Lucid Dream!

Ha ok well let's say it was the first time I attained luciduty, because it pretty much ended there. But anyway.
Oh, I had no intention of becoming lucid and had in fact stopped in EWLD before it started talking about inducing LDs, because I wanted to first work on my memory. Though I had just yesterday decided that I would continue with it anyway.

It was nearly 6 in the morning and I desperately wanted to get some more sleep, as I had to wake up in an hour. Finally I fell asleep somehow in the bright morning light, and this is what I dreamt:

I was in an apartment very similar to the one in which I live. I was sitting at my computer, and for some reason a couple of chicks were there, one of whom was Corinne, my flatmate.
My computer was acting weird. First of all it had downloaded a bunch of updates, when in real life the Automatic Updates feature is disabled. Then the whole layout and look of my OS was different, i.e. smaller beige-colored dialog boxes with soft edges etc, as if I had a different OS (I use XP).
Also, I had AOE installed (I don't) and my TV software was randomly popping up a bunch of new channels/programs, like CNN (I'm in the UK, don't get it).
I asked Corinne if her computer had dl'ed a bunch of updates last night, but I don't remember her reply.
Then up popped a command prompt with some strange layout and stuff, and I couldn't figure out how to exit it as none of the normal commands worked.
Finally I exited, and decided to reboot to get the new updates to work properly.
I was thinking how weird it was, when I said aloud "I wonder if I'm dreaming". So I stood up and did a RC (nose). I was able to breathe!
Then it all made perfect sense, I was dreaming and that's why my computer was acting so strangely.
Once I realized it, I got so excited and shouted out "I'm dreaming!!", after which I felt everything disappearing and I woke up. Probably from the excitement or the fact that it was close to my normal waking time.

But it is great to know that I am potentially capable of it, and I guess it's time to crack the book open again.
      Knowledge is power.

That's the beginning of everything! You've tasted it.

Now start immersing yourself in stabilizing and prolonging techniques. That will help you remember 'em next time.

      Re: First Lucid Dream!

you said you got exited, you should try to relax when you find out your dreaming,
just realize, he, i'm dreaming, then rub you hands and try to make your dream more vivid, en when you are, you can do what you want, and have fun, you can be exited when you wake up.
o yeah...and next time your dream is fading away, rubb your hands again, or try spinning around.
goodluck with you next lucid dream, and ofcourse, congrats with you first one
