      LD out of nowhere

I have gotten busy lately and neglected recording my dreams and thinking so much about LD'ing; although I still carried around my Reality Check reminder in my pocket so I did that periodically. Anyway last night (early AM) I unexpectedly had an LD; I had been walking around with someone I knew was a relative but she kept changing into different people, and all of a sudden it just hit me that I was dreaming. Once again I felt like I kind of wasted it though; I didn't do anything wonderful. But I am inspired to keep trying.

Before I went to bed I drank some red wine, ate dark chocolate (fancy kind with lavender and blueberries) and watched Heavy: the story of Metal, all 4 hours, on VH1. Unusually relaxed evening. Maybe that is why. I am trying the wine and chocolate again...it can't hurt....

That's pretty sweet. Who knew drinking, eating chocolate and watching 4 hours of VH1 would chalk up another LD? Great job.

congrats. That's kind of weird though. Alchohol is supposed to be bad for LDing. But if you LD you LD.

Well I didn't drink much, just like 6 - 8 oz over a few hours. Slow drinking. Must have been the TV because the combination of wine and chocolate has not been successful again. I should probably give up on this quest for some magic combination of food and/or supplements which will work and concentrate on journaling and induction techniques. Like most things in life, LD'ing seems to be the result effort rather than quick and easy tricks. Darn.

Yeah, but then again in my opinion having to work for it is the essence of lucid dreaming. If you could just eat chocolate or say I want an LD, and you'd have one it wouldn't be so meaningful when you finally have a great, realistic LD where you have full control (which hasn't happend yet to me). I agree that it was probably the TV, and maybe some effect from chocolate, as 6-8oz of alcohol over a few hours wouldn't do anything to me either, adn I'm underage (I don't drink for non-religeous purposes though).

some alcohol is good for LDs.

a little more alcohol is very bad.
