      My first lucid dream!?!

I have never heard of lucid dreaming until just now. I told my friend about how I controlled a dream.

When I got into a deep sleep, I had a dream that I was at a theme park. I saw nothing around me but trees and a single ride.

3 of my friends that I havent seen for 3 years were with me (but we just talked on the phone the day before). We got on a very tall ride that rotates in random directions. I noticed that there were NO seatbelts. People were just holding on to a bar as their body flung in directions. I was worried about falling, but then noticed that I was practically stuck onto the bar. It seemed to fake to be true and I somehow ended the ride, turned around, and there was a BRAND NEW ROLLERCOASTER. (That wasnt there before.)

I got on the roller coaster and controlled it to go backwards. It seemed almost real!

Would this be classified as lucid dreaming? If so, I really want to learn how to do this. I dont ever remember my dreams unless I sleep well. Are there any tips like eating/drinking before sleeping or what sleep position is optimal? I really want to have that experience again!

welcome to dreamviews! Glad to see new posters.

Yes your dream definitely shows the start of lucidity! Keep continuing and you'll notice more and more aspects to regular dreams that are quite different than normal life. When you question and pickup on those cues, then you can do a reality check "RC" or simply tell yourself to see your hands. Once you have the "aha! this is a dream" then you become completely lucid in the dream and the journey starts there.

      congrats btw!

      Welcome to the forum =)

So when we dream and we can control it without being really conscious..without knowing that you are dreaming, it's a start of lucidity?
.. since my last LD I can just control the dream without knowing that's a dream.

Yep it's the a definite sign of lucidity! It's however not fully a lucid dream. In a LD you have to recognize with your mind that you are dreaming.
