have you ever fought your evil side and lost...

once i fought my evil side and lost, it was a huge bat monster and it picked me up by the neck, and squeezed. the second time the same thing happened, but i pushed his arm away and i punched him and he exploded with light (which killed him). The third time he just appeared while i was half way through my dream, and he started punching me, i was blocking, and he said "you'll never be able to kill ME!!!" and then i rolled away then ran for it. so far the score is 2 - 1 to him. That is my main goal, for when i master lucid dreaming, i will rip him apart, he seriously plagues my thoughts, but i do not fear him. when i lost to him the first time (which was really the only time i really lost) nothing appeared to happen to me, but when i beat him everything in real life seemed so much more clearer, now things seem like they were origionally.........

Any one else got any ideas or experiences on this subject, if yes i would really like to know, thank in advance.....

you can't kill your shadow. it will always come back, and you'll only get tired. because, well, it is stronger. or at least as strong as the rest of you.

i think one sould come to terms with his shadow, not kill it a thousand times. It's a lot more difficult, sure, but it may be more useful.

i have come to terms with it, i get angry like every one does, and when that happens, i use it in a sense like everyone does when they are in trouble (the fight or flight ability) i believe this is were the fight or flight ability stems from, although in this state it is impossible to exert a great amount of self control which is quite worrying. This is why i must keep it at bay, because if i do not then i could lose self control all together.

I think that all of you should take heed of my thoughts because this does refer to everyone, not just me...

BUT hey, remember, HAKUNA MATATA!!! IT MEANS NO WORRIES, AND IT WILL GET YOU THROUGH ALL OF LIFES PROBLEMS...

Ive fought a huge battle between an evil force in an epic dream trying to stop them from hurting people i loved i used all kinds of cool moves and made things apear to help me fight like gun turrets and force fields.... but the weird thing is at the end of the dream i was losing the battle couldnt hold up a force field any longer and this one guy who i sensed as being very bad looked at me and said " You can not beat me here" like it was his domain. Well at this point i dont know why but i decided to give him a bear hug and shouted i heal you of all your evil and the dream ended with that and i woke up.It was a very intense dream that could not seem to wake from i had about 4 false awakenings before the actual battle dream. I woke up very exillerated. It was a good expierence.

Heh, I either don't have a ''shadow-side'' that wishes to fight me.
      OR
The alter ego I implemented into my dreams when I was young, IS my shadow side.

If the latter is the case, then it is my shadow, who I become in my dreams.

I think my "shadow side" plays out his moves as me when I dream. In yesterdays dream I killed my dog , and in quite a few dreams I have done evil things that I wouldn't normally do.

Your evil side is a huge bat monster? Wouldn't that just be a typical monster you encounter in your dreams? Unless he said he was your evil side..

KINGDOM HEARTS 2 RULES BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I AM SORRY THAT I WENT A BIT OFF TOPIC, BUT IT NEEDED TO BE SAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah and to liam angels comment, i know he was my evil side because (and i have never said this before, to anyone) before he killed me the last thing i saw was an image of me in his eyes, and not just a reflection, but a picture of my face, as angry as hell, and i also had this feeling, that i knew him, and that i hated him, and that he was a complete contrast to me, him being evil and me being good, it was like him and my mind was telling me that he was my evil side... its very hard to explain.

If your good, you shouldn't hate him. The good person should not "hate" their enemy, like a Jedi, if you have hate you will become him.

i dont hate him in a sense, he is more of my rival, because i believe that each of us are keepinig score, so far its 2-1 to him, but now i can lucid dream i will beat him. It was because of him that i started lucid dreaming, i wanted to fight him again, because he is a worthy adversary, and i want to see him in a more human form, or a more reasonable form, because i believe that the bat monster form is more of an anger form rarther than a true form, when i meet him in true form then the fight shall begin, I CANT WAIT!!! I am guessing that his true form will look like me but be a bit more dark or evil... when i fight him in true form i imagine it will be like Sephiroth vs Cloud in FINAL FANTASY 7 ADVENT CHILDREN, or some thing cool like that, and at that point even if i lose i will be happy, because it will make me try even harder next time, and i know that he will do the same...

A loss is only a loss if you dont learn from it...

so i dont hate him, but i want to beat him because it is sort of a competition between us, and clearly my aim is to be victorious.

I know what you mean, my best friend is also my biggest rival. We compete at every oppertunity, even in team games we try to out play each other. I'm winning the battle up to now though. Perhaps I need a new opponant, such as my own mind.

      I'm sweating bullets...

I believe that having your own mind as a rival is a very good thing to do, because one will always be as good as the other, this will in turn force both sides to get stronger, in order to beat the other, even though if you fight each other then you will be locked in combat for all eternity, because you will always be equal, which will cause you to strive even harder to beat the other, which will result in both of you achieving extraordernary strengh, so both sides, win...

unless one somehow finds a way to defeat the other perminantely, which is impossible...

But in the dream world impossible is nothing...

These are one of the frequent dreams I had before I got my dry spell. The only one I can remember (actually the one I had right before I lost lucidity ability) went like this:

      That day:

I'm at school etc... kids start to annoy me. I felt alot of rage building in me and all I thought of doing was beating their heads into the concrete. But, being the good kid I held back the impending rage that was trying to claw it's way out of me and put it in a little place that I made up when I was a little kid to control anger and such, I named this place Pandora's Box .

      The dream:

After I fall asleep I believe I was in the void (world of nonexistence, purgatory, what ever you want to call it). This was in third person.

I looked in the distance and I could make out a shape. As it got closer I saw that it looked exactly like me only with slighty glowing blood red eyes and was eminating what looked like black and red vapor . Since I praticed swordsmanship at a very young age I imaged I had a katana and got ready to defend myself, but as I did this my dark-self manifested a obsidion colored katana (just for the record obsidion is black volcanic shiny stone).

After this we began to fight. The only reference to the type of fighting we did would be fighting like Cloud and Sephiroth (from Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts I and II, etc... ironic heh).

A while passed and I was getting tired. All I could do at this point was block attacks until he striked the sword from my hands. The last thing I remember was looking up, and him striking downward at me and then I woke up bolting upright.

The funny thing with this dream is that I remembered it when I saw the title of this topic. Hmmm...

So ya anyway, it was a rather envigorating and disturbing experience. Now that I think of it this dream may have been the cause of my six year dry spell (screwy ain't it). It looks like I inevertly opened my Pandora's Box.

that is a very interesting dream, it seems that your anger built up to its peak, and the reason that you didnt let it out in real life is because of your conscience, although in the dream world, you can do whatever you want, and you can go against your conscience, in one of my dreams i shot a bus driver in the head because he wouldnt accept my money, in real life i would never dream of doing that, but in your dream your anger gets the better of you... i believe that you tried to release all of your anger, and it was so much that, it formed its own entity.

now dont get me wrong, i dont have anything against the "pandora's box" method, in fact i use it myself, and some of my anger is now leaking out so i am almost destined to have one of these dreams soon.

I also believe (i am terribly sorry if this is inaccurate) that the reason that you stopped lucid dreaming is that subconciously you fear this being of the dark and are afraid that if you lucid dream again for some reason he might reappear, so you should try to convince yourself that he will not come back and if he does then you will be able to defeat him. Or when you lucid dream you should summon him, and train against him, and learn its abilities, this will give you more confidence in real life...

I hope this idea has been useful...

And please send in more stories or ideas about fighting your darkness. thanks in advance!!!!!!!!

Normaly pieman I might agree with you about the subconcious fear thing but that's just it,... I don't fear him. Not to sound cliche or whatever but I almost have no fear, my friends once even gave me the nickname fearless leader because of this. If anything I want to have a lucid dream again so I can fight him again.

For now I just imagine fights with him and I until we meet again... face to face!!!

      What you should do

I think if this keeps happening and your gettig tiered of this happening then you should let it become you.
What im trying to say is let your own self become one with your evil side you will have complete contral, think of it as an infurnit win.
Ofcorse i might be wrong but watching that mythical drama called EarthSea this guy summoned his alter ego and and at the end he defeated him by reliseing it was himself doing the bad deeds and he become one with his alter ego.
Im not afraid of the dark, its whats in it.
*the lights turn off and the whole room goes dark*
Oh im fin- Ahhhhhhhh its a scary figment of my imagination.
