You were lucid, but it sounds like it was a low level of lucidity. Having any kind of awareness that you are in a dream at all constitues being lucid, but just how aware you are of that fact determines what level of lucidity you're at. This can sound a bit confusing at first.
In a low level lucid, you would be aware that you're dreaming, but you may not realize that you're friends are just DCs (dream characters), like in the dream you had.
In a medium-level lucid, you may be aware that your "friends" are really just a product of your imagination, but you might still avoid jumping off buildings or something for fear of getting hurt (which is obviously not possible in a dream), or you might feel too "embarrased" to do something like get naked in public.
In a high level lucid, you are completely aware that everything you are experiencing is being created by your mind, and you are confident that nothing can hurt or threaten you (because it can't).
These examples are just a rough guide, but hopefully you get the idea. People usually have more dream control in higher-level lucids, and less in lower-level lucids.

You lost lucidity, this is perfectly normal, especially for people new to lucid dreaming. I also lost lucidity in my first lucid dream, and in a couple since then as well.
