      Unbelievable--My First Lucid Dream

I had my first Lucid Dream today during a 3 PM nap. I vividly remember telling myself "Oh my god, I'm Dreaming!". I immediately woke up and the emotions that I was feeling overwhelmed me. I couldn't handly it. I was shaking and I told my roommate about it right away. Did anyone else feel alarmed and overwhelmed their first time? I'm scared that this feeling will not allow me to control my dreams and will cause me to awaken every time I LD. Is it possible that over time I will react more calmly?

The first Thing you gotta tell yourself when you become Lucid is Calm Down, that is a must..Ask anyone here and they will tell you the samething..Secondly, after that, dont try doing something right away...Instead, take a few seconds too focus, look around your surroundings get familiar with what is there....Then If you have a goal in mind try it..Something simply like flying...You must get it inside your head that everything in your dream is your own imagination, your own creation, and you will beable to do what you want when you want....Dont let your subconcious try to trick you into believeing you dont have the control...Know you have the control..Know you can calm yourself..In your dreams nothing at all can hurt you, If you are in a Lucid Dream and someone tries to kill you, you can simply over come it and tell them to stop..Ive done it and right after i put out my hand and say STOP! they vanish like that..

Everyone's first Lucid Dream is great, My first Lucid was when a bunch of black cats were trying to kill me in my brothers bed room where i had been sleeping that night when he was out of town, and i realized i was dreaming and I was like DJ WAKE UP!! i kept hitting myself in the head until i woke up and if i remember correctly i hit myself in the head in reality once..

Lucid Dreaming Takes time, dont be afraid, Lucid Dreaming is great, nothing can harm u..What you have at hand is a journey that only your imagination can make..Nothing else.

Congrats on having your first LD. :bravo:

Don't worry about being too excited, anxious, or whatever in your first LD. You'll find as you have more that you'll be calmer, and the length of them will increase, as will your control. It's normal to be excited first time.
