      How embarassing...

Last night I was dreaming about being at a really lame family reunion. When suddenly I realized none of the people at this reunion were in my family.

"I'm dreaming," I said, looking around.

The scenery sucked big time, in only a handful of colors and seemingly flat, block after block of repeating small town block, and it reminded me a lot of a Bearenstein Bears computer game I had in 1990. In addition to that, everything was blurry as it would be if I wasn't wearing my contacts in real life, which is a first and probably has to do with me recently going to the optometrist.

Anyway, a girl who reminded me an awful lot of the character Fred on the show Angel heard me say this. "What? You are?" she asked.

"Yeah. And I can go anywhere I want and do whatever I want when I'm dreaming. We can go to... the city or something."

The girl was thoroughly impressed. She and I agreed to go to "the city." So, in order to change the scenery, I announced the first "city" to come to my mind. "New York City!" I proclaimed, waiting for it to materialize around us. The girl's eyes got wide as our surroundings went blank, and a street with parking meters appeared before us. But nothing else. "Um, the...road!' I pronounced, hoping to keep her impressed with this magic I was working. But why hadn't a city skyline appeared? I realized almost immediately that this was quite like The Sims... I would have to place the buildings one by one on this blank white space.

"Skyscraper!" I announced, pointing to the place on the canvas where it was to appear. It worked. And so I repeated this over and over with different types of buildings until the canvas was full, finally adding a low-flying plane overhead as garnish. The girl was very impressed. But I wasn't... this was probably one of the suckiest LDs I've ever had.

Very strange. Oh, and to update everyone on the meaty dreams... they've become much less frequent. Actually, I've only had one since I posted about it, and for some reason the dream didn't bother me at all.

If that is your interpetation of a "sucky Lucid Dream", then I would hate to see what you would call mine. Yours would be an epic for me!!!!

My lucid dream- become aware that I am dreaming. convince myself I really am dreaming - struggle to stay Lucid - then wake up. Ye ha

Hey Howetzer try not to put to much pressure on the Lucidity. Struggling to maintain it only fades it out because you are making yourself so aware that you are lucid and trying to maintain that awareness, is going to wake you up everytime. Just relax and go with the flow, Just like in the waking world do other things to grasp your attention to stay Lucid. For example try flying. Or Just will objects here and there. That should work out for you. Its all about adjusting oneself to make Lucidity so habitual that you will acknowledge it from the moment you enter your dream state.

Thanks for the advice ShawdowNightWing This I will try. It is just so damn fasinating when your lucid it is hard not to put a lot of emphasise on the Lucidity aspect. I'm sure it wil come in time.
