This happened back in 1999, I was living on my own for the first time with the girl I was dating at the time. I physically passed out from exhaustion and the last time I remember looking at the clock it was 10am.

I wake up in my bed next to my girlfriend and realize how thirsty I am. I look at the clock and notice that it displays 10:30am yet I feel like I've been asleep for hours. I get up and leave the bedroom and walk down the hallway to my livingroom. The clock in there says 10:30am as well. I head to the fridge and grab an unopened gatorade out of the fridge, open it and take a few drinks of it.

I wake up in my bed next to my girlfriend and realize how thirsty I am. I look at the clock and notice that it displays 10:32am and am confused because I could have sworn I'd just woken up 2 minutes before and gotten something to drink. I notice how thirsty I am so I get up and head out of the bedroom and down the hallway in to my livingroom. The lock in there says it is 10:32am as well. I head to the fridge and grab a gatorade out of the fridge. It has been opened and I'm wondering why but take a few drinks of it.

I wake up in my bed next to my girlfriend and there is a baseball mitt and a baseball bat on my stomach. I wonder what these are doing here because my baseball gear was still at my parent's place. I look at the clock and it is 10:34am and with a sense of deja vous that I shrug off realize how thirsty I am. I toss the bat and mitt on the floor and head out and down the hall to the livingroom. The clock in there says 10:34am as well. I head to the fridge and grab a half full gatorade out of the fridge. I am irritated that someone drank some of my gatorade but am thirsty enough to kill the rest of it so don't really care.

I wake up in my bedroom and sit there for a minute. I know something is going on. I look at the clock and it says 10:36am. I jump out of bed confused and look around the room but everything is in its place. My girlfriend is looking so adorable and peaceful in her sleep and I don't want to disturb her. I figure if I'm not going to get any sleep I'll just go down to the livingroom and watch some TV. I head out in to the hallway and realize it is kind of chilly so decide to head down to the basement and grab some wood to make a fire in our fireplace.

I then realize we don't have a basement or a fireplace but looking to my left, sure enough, there is a set of stairs leading down. So I walk down them and when I get to the bottom of the steps I'm in a cellar style room. My friend Megan is standing in the middle of the room dancing which strikes me as odd because Megan had gone home hours ago. I shrug it off and head back up the stairs.

When I reach the top of the stairs I notice a globe on the hallway table, neither of which were there when I'd walked down the stairs to the cellar we don't have. I pick the glove up to look at it and it has a picture of my face on it, as I start to turn it over to examine it further it morphs in to something similar to a rubix-cube-like puzzle and it is all out of whack. I get tangled up in it trying to put it back together and realize that it is a chaotic mess that I don't have the energy to fix at the moment.

I walk in to the livingroom and sit down in a chair. I am slightly out of breath and my head is spinning with confusion. I look at the clock to see what time it is and it is 10:40am. I look back at the clock noticing that something is out of place but can't put my finger on what it is. Then I realize that the clock has a red body to it whereas the one we own is black.

Suddenly I decide to look down at my hands and upon seeing them I start to laugh and come to the conclusion that I am dreaming.

The next thing I know I am at a grocery store I used to work at. The lights are very dim and it is hard to see in there. As my eyes adjust to the light I decide to take a walk up an aisle. There are people floating all over the place but not people I've ever met before. As I approach the rear of the store it turns in to a second hand store with couches and stuff, only in the back of the store though. I decide that since I am dreaming I can probably control what is going on to a degree so decide to try to float as well. I jump up and feel weightless and manage to jump about ten feet down the back section of the store but can't remain in flight. I land and look around to see what else is going on, feeling amused but not wanting to do anything that would end the dream.

I spot a very attractive blonde haired woman standing by a rack of miscellaneous objects and decide to go strike up a conversation with her. As I approach her she turns to me and smiles, her eyes twinkling with amusement and she holds up a yellow ashtray. The ashtray seems to melt in her hands and turn in to a yellow candle. On the center of the candle is a blue eye with four long blue lashes extending from left to right, almost egyptian looking. She grins at me and says, "I am the key," and disappears.

I wake up in my bed and look at the clock. It is 10:50am. I know that I was dreaming but can't tell if I still am. So I stand up and go to my fridge. On the way I look at the livingroom clock and it says 11:05 which makes sense because our clock in the livingroom is set fifteen minutes fast. The gatorade is in there, unopened.

At this point I really was awake and decided to sit down and try to figure out what had just happened. That was my first lucid dream.
