so i woke up around 7 to 8-ish AM, and doze back to sleep
after a few minutes and i guess i was imagining things because
it felt like i was awake but sleeping, erm almost like i was
daydreaming but i don't really know if i was awake or just
imagining that i was havin' a LD, then i think i started havin'
a nightmare or something and i was thinkin' about dream
spinning to get out of the setting, so i guess i tried to in my
mind and started spinning in my imagination but i felt like i
was twitching physically(sorry bad grammar), but when i woke
or rather thought i woke up from dreaming, my heart was
beating like crazy, could it have been a dream where i thought
      i woke up but really didn't ? :S,

ps. do you know how to control nightmares, or get rid of them?

No. Lucid Dreams are distinguishable by their lifelike intensity. So if you can think that it MIGHT BE just your imagination, then it automatically disqualifies.

      Hey, afraid!

I have this experience every so often as well; it's like a dream per se, but without any sensory quality. You can't see, hear, touch, smell, or taste. It seems like a lucid dream, though, because you actually feel a physical reaction afterwards, and could swear that you realized you were "dreaming".

Leo's right, though. You will know a lucid dream when you have one. I guess this could be considered daydreaming plus, which is actually maybe a good way to relax oneself, and maybe use it as an auto-suggestion to go lucid. (i.e. say to oneself before attempting sleep: I want to have THAT dream, but for real this time. You get the idea! )
