      So last night I went to bed maybe at 11ish. I was asleep until almost 12am, when I woke up, looked at the clock, lay back down proceeded to accidently have my first lucid dream after entirely giving up on them for months. I just sort of slid into it; it really was quite amazing. My thoughts were something like, "Hmm, everything is entirely a white, like those Apple commercials and that scene in the Matrix... wait, oh my god. I'm dreaming. I think I'll fly!" And I did.

      I was asleep for another half hour before waking up. Sadly, along with giving up my dream journal, came terrible dream memory. I remember flying, some really small clouds, and that's about it.

      This is somewhat disappointing, but not really. Now that I've had one, I know what it's like. But more importantly, I have something to motivate me this time, and keep trying until it happens again.
      Don't ask.

      Congratulations. =]

      Funny how these things sneak up on you when you least expect it, eh? Well, now that you've had your first, it should be much easier. "Once you pop, you just can't stop."

      No, I did believe it was possible. When I first stumbled upon the idea, I didn't at all get the feeling that it was just everyone's imagination.

      Really the idea, when you think about it scientifically, isn't far-fetched at all. There's no reason why you shouldn't be concious in your sleep. The whole thing about conciousness is that you know when you are, and you don't know when you aren't. And the idea of being awake in my sleep, it's something anyone would want. I think of it as getting more time out of life. Sleep is what everyone does most of, so why not make it enjoyable? :)
