Does anyone else imagine themselves weightless just floating around in a black abyss with no sound no light no toudh no nothing?? When I LD sometimes I find it very theraputic to go to what I call "the space"

Sometimes when I try WILDing I find myself in a "void" but never had it happen in a dream.

PS: This reminds me of a Black Sabbath song. =3

Into the viod, prehaps? A sweet song I might add.

I used to have a repeating dream where I would fall continuosly, and I would end up in "the void". I wasn't lucid, but it seemed to have some sort of a warmness to it even though it appeared s thoug I was in nothingness.

I haven't managed to successfully WILD, but at least twice in my life I think I've approached that void.

The first time was in high school when someone was leading our band through a visualization exercise (and a rather lengthy one at that). He was bringing us into a very relaxed state, further and further down, and at one point I approached what I believe was almost a hypnotized state. Unforunately I jerked away from it slightly and just about ruined everything that he had been having us do (for myself personally).

The second one was when I was listening to an HILD mp3 and one time I approached that void again, but just before I fell into it I jerked. I guess I just don't trust the speakers enough... maybe if someone I trusted a lot tried...

That's been my experience, though. Hopefully I can learn to relax.

I don't feel paralyzed I just float around I go there on purpose it helps me think! But.. i can always go back to a dream/different place if I want to. Just remember that in an LD you can do anythingm YOU want

I go to "the void" all the time. It's a relaxing place to focus and study. I guess it's scary to some, but to me its great.

      That's not dreaming.

      That's deep sleep.

Yeah, we all do that once in awhile.

How do you get out of it?[/b]
I've been there as well, and I know how frustrating it can be when you're looking forward to a lucid filled with sensory input and all you have is darkness.

My advice is to take a moment to relax, get yourself stabilized (if you're lucid) and instead of trying to force yourself to "see" with your eyes, use your imagination in creating a scene.

For example: I was in this "space" once and couldn't see a thing. I had this feeling like I was underwater somehow, like inside the belly of a whale. Sure enough, as I imagined this scenario, the whale opened up it's mouth and I then saw light up ahead of me. I found myself topside in the water and a dream ensued.

No. I said that sometimes when I am in an LD doing usual things (flying etc) I decide to go into "the space" to calm myself!!!!!!!

Yeah I think I've experieneced this void. I was surprised by it, but it was pretty cool now looking back on it. It definatly wasn't just deep sleep, I slipped into it involuntarily while lucid. To get out I just kept opening and closing my eyes until I opened my real eyes.
