Cool

To be honest, I think I had a lucid dream last night! But now that I think of it, I can't be 100% sure. Here’s what happened.

I was doing the second or third FILD that night. I wasn't having any success on the others, but this one was different. Not long after hitting the alarm, I felt funny. My sleep felt weird. I felt like my body was numb. I didn't know what to make of it, so I continued my FILD. About a few minutes later, I slowly raised my arm to my nose to do a RC, and it worked. I did it once, and I breathed through just fine. I remember plugging my nose harder just to make sure. Yes! It still worked! It was such a wired feeling, breathing through my nose while holding it. Honestly can’t describe it. I was if my hand was numb, and wasn’t there, even I know it was. My nose felt weird too. An incredible wave of excitement rushed over me when this happened. I relished too long on the fact that I was dreaming. I then concentrated on a dream scene. I wanted it to be simple, but I had a hard time creating one.* I had thought the night before to create a gray room with a white door. But I didn't know what perspective to put it in. When I got an idea what it would be, all I had was a gray wall to look at. (Thinking of it now, I should have looked at the door.) I tried to open my dream eyes, and I found it hard to do so. It was if my eyes were too tired to do so. That feeling of the dream numbness left me, and when I finally opened my eyes, I was in my room. ARG!!! I get it now! I had a FA! I never did a RC, and fell back to sleep. That explains the rest of the events to come.

First off, I went to sleep? No way! If I had really just woken up from that experience, I would of ran downstairs to my computer and been typing away. I would have never gone back to sleep. When I did come downstairs for real just a few moments ago to write this, my theory was that it could possibly have been a dream. But I rule that out because the feelings were incredible! I would never go back to sleep after such an event. I must of had a FA until I woke up. And once I fell asleep in my dream, the dream continued. What supported my dream theory is that I had dreamt that I told my dad about the whole experience. I didn't really do it. But I think this happened in a dream shortly after the FA. What then also supported my dream theory was that I had a dream I remember as I woke up this morning. But now I think the feeling of me lucid FA, me telling dad, and having a dream were all one dream all together. So, I really think I had a lucid dream. Just for the part of realization. Sure I didn't see any thing, but I still think I was lucid the second I breathed my RC. The reason I didn't have a dream scene is because there wasn’t anything to go off of. Just a gray wall. When I opened my eyes, I lost confidence in my dream, and reappeared in my room. I SHOULD HAVE DONE AN RC THERE!!! I could of been lucid from that point! I was so close!!!

I don't know 100% if this was a lucid dream, but I am 90% sure. Any input or ideas on what happened last night would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. ^_^

PS
I wanted to mention this. My body is uncontrollably twitching. I don't know if it's from excitement, or what, but it was very hard to type this all this, It isn't too bad of a twitch, just slightly. I don't know what to make of it.

** When I just connected my whole dream together. I was piecing it together while I was typing.

Definitely sounds like a lucid dream to me! Way to go! Hopefully it will get easier from here, since you now have an idea of what to expect.

Nice Job, you did have a lucid dream. All that it takes to be lucid is to be knowing that you are in dream. The levels of lucidity vary, but most of the time you will be able to at least control your own actions.

It was such a wired feeling, breathing through my nose while holding it. Honestly can’t describe it.[/b]
I know what you mean. I love that feeling.

So after you did the nose rc, was there just blackness. That is what is was like with my first LD. It was black, then I was all of a sudden in a weird japanese room.

That is exactly what happened to me on my first LD, also. I was in the LD, then had a FA. I didn't know that it was still a dream, and I was walking around and telling people all about the lucid dream. I woke up for real after the FA and I was like, "Awesome, my first LD. Too bad I had a FA"

All in all, just remembering the dream and rc means that you did have an LD. Good luck on more of them.

Yeah. I hadn't "opened" my eyes yet, but I was trieng to make a dream scene, but I wasn't having much luck with. Anyone got any tips on creating dream scenes? I could really use them.

Eh well im still new and my lucid dream i screwed up on lol. "to test that i was dreaming i woke meself up >.< lol" but you may have the problem that i have. Its hard for me to imagine a dream scene without it moving so you may want to imagine it in motion and stuff like if your there then have yourself doing something. Or if you already are doing that then try a motionless landscape lol So I hope that helps

lol i know what u mean thats what triggered my lucidity during my FA. as for creating a dreamscape start with somthing small, like a door, and imagine your dreamscape on the other side. if its not there when u open the door, then close it and try again
Total lucid dreams=88

Definitely lucid. Congratulations, I hope it is the first of many. Hopefully FILD will continue to work for you.

When I had a successful FILD, I just got up out of bed, in my dream I mean, and then I was off doing whatever. It's like once I knew I was dreaming, I was able to open my eyes and get up and leave the room, which looked like my room but all weird and lit-up.

I have had the experience of knowing I was dreaming but not really being in any real dream; like a state of mind without form, just grayness. I really haven't been too successful with turning that into a real dream; one time I had a vision, and another it was like a little movie for a minute but I couldn't get into it. So I don't know about that; still working on it.

Hopefully you will become lucid while already in a dream so you can just manipulate the already existing environment without having to conjure it up from nothing. But maybe you can try just getting up out of bed, and you will in your dream.
