Ok usually on saturdays and sundays when I get home from doing my stupid paper route, I sit and watch TV for a while. Then, I go back to sleep for about 1.5-2 hours or so, then get up and do whatever. Anyway, this morning when I went back to sleep, I almost immediately realized that I was dreaming. After that, I kinda ran around like an idiot and did some weird things (you don't want to know). Then, I tried flying. Let's just put it this way, it didn't work. It was funny though because everything in my dream was realistic for the most part. I just can't figure out why I couldn't fly... I focused my mind and ran and jumped into the air, and nothing happened. It's a good thing I wasn't doing it in real life at the same time too because I probably would have been taken to a mental institution. After a while I started having a sorta false awakening thing, where stuff was fading and my dream self believed that I was waking up. This is kinda good though, cause I can use this sign to my advantage. If it ever happens again (and if you didn't read my other post, this is the second FA I've had in the last 2 weeks or so) I can tell myself that I'm still dreaming. Also, at first, I didn't believe I was dreaming because it was so realistic. It's hard to get myself to discern the difference between the real world and a dream world fabricated by my brain, but I'm working on it. So does anyone have any good advice I can use? Has anyone ever flown in their dream, and if so, how did you do it? Thanks a lot and this is really starting to get fun for me!!

No, you were waking up for real. that is NOT what a False Awakening is. A False Awakening is when you dream of waking up in your bed, in your house, and you dream you get up, brush your teeth, get dressed, eat breakfast and go to work. But you're still dreaming, but think you are awake. That is why they call it "false".

Now, about Flying. Flying is something that not everybody can do. I really think that one has to have actually achieved something in Real Life in order to Fly in one's Dreams. One has to EARN the ability to Fly. It is like Knighthood. You just can't fly because you want to.

What you need to do is evaluate your Real Life and determine something that you really ought to accomplish -- something difficult and challenging, but still in the realm of the Possible, and you should go for it. Prove your Value to yourself and to others. Then you will be able to Fly in your dreams.

      Explain that to me.

It allso kind of contradicts the first unwritten rule of lucid dreaming: One can do everything in one's dream.

Oh and I could fly the first time I tried... So I have accomplished something special in my life or something leo?

      -

You can fly whenever you want man, why not eighter 'create' a jetpack or just 'believe' leo and 'remember' in your dream to have gotten this incredible 'knighthood of flying', while you actually did nothing.

      Good luck!

Actually, it was a FA, because I didn't actually wake up (duh). Also, it's not like I've never done this before, so yeah I do know about SOME things. Anyway I was thinking flying was like riding a bike. If you've never done it before, you can't expect to just jump on and start riding (or in this case flying). You may fall off or fall from the sky onto a power line but hey it's all good.

My biggest dreamsign is flying, or more jumping over something and never coming down but that leads to flying, i say hey just jump up and dont think about it.

About leos statement, i tend to agree with him. Flying to some people is a reward that you get for overcoming a gaol which in a way leaves you feeling "high" Flying in dreams is the "high" feeling as a reward
