      Flying

In the last couple days I've had 3 lucid dreams(go me!).

My most recent one: I was at my house when I noticed there was snow on the ground. All the snow had melted and I realized I must be dreaming. So I looked up and willed that the clouds change shape. They did so I yelled, "Snow, melt!" and half of it dissappeared, I had to yell it a couple more times to make it disappear completely. I tried to fly and jumped up, but I couldn't even jump as high as I normally can. I told my family I was dreaming and showed them how I could change the sky different colors. I tried to fly again, but couldn't.

How do you fly in your lucid dreams?

it's mentioned in other places, but you need to have the will to do it and you need to believe you can.

Congrats on a cool dream! If you can change the color of the sky and cause snow to melt, you will have no problems learning to fly!

Just believe and do it. I like to fly Neo-Matrix style.

If course hovering like they do in DBZ is pretty cool too!

Yeah, I've flown in both my LD's, and its completely natural... DBZ and Matrix are perfect examples, they will themselves to fly. I used both my wil as my body movement. I sort of move my body upwards, make some sort of stretching move, and I hove above the ground!

One thing I really like about about lucid dreams is that you can't just realise you're dreaming and do everything. You actually have to find out how to do something, and then train with it. I took me two LDs before I figured out how to jump really high.
      Next step: Flying.

Hmmm, the Matrix thing sounds like a good idea, cuz I'm seeming to have the same problems. But since I've been working on LDing with turorials and all I'm really making progress. Flying is the goal for tonight!

Well, a verbal command may help you fly better.

No superhero's flying seems more crazy than Neo's. I really wish to try that, hehe.

If you've seen the Matrix movies, you can probably get a boost-start by imitating how he does it. Like kneeling down to make ripples on the ground first,

Yeah It took me a while to do a Standing Still Burst off. I was really so used to running, you know building up speed and then taking off using my velocity to give myself hight and distance. Then I figured why not defy the laws because they don't exsist anyway. Plus I need a sure way to take off in flight quick to get away from my enemies when I usually play catch me if you can in my dreams.

Usually I can just fly without having to think about it. Once I had a lucid dream where I couldn't seem to do it so I took a running start and that seemed to do the trick. Like everyone else has said, its all about believing you can. When I start to worry that I can't do something in my dreams, I can't. When I'm confident, I can.
Tonight's the night. And it's going to happen again, and again. It has to happen.

When ever I start a WILD, I fly as a test. I am able to have a WILD every weekend if I wake up naturaly (not from an alarm clock).

I never really fly extremely fast or anything in my Lucid Dreams. And I know my brother has told me about taking flight from a stationary position but I find that so difficult. I mostly float around kinda like a Feather in the Wind.

I can do the superman, but I much prefer my wings, because its not an act of will, its an act of nature. Not breaking any rules, if you consider being a dragon breaking the rules then I guess I break some =D.

Seeker and I discussed this a while back, trying to fly with wings instead of using will. The best thing to do is to watch birds, swans, swallows, pigeons, even bugs, butterflies, dragonflies they all fly differntly but it gives you ideas and something to build off of, see how they take off and land, and watch them in flight, also pick up a book or too leanr how it works, KNOWING how it works makes it much easier because you can see it within your mind and you know that yes birds can fly so, all you really have to do is grow yourself a set of wings =D or change into a bird, or dragon or flutterby or somefin else

Don't worry about it much.... just let it flow, it will come in time...

You could try picturing a force/energy field around and under you. Think that it's pushing you along instead of you yourself flying.

In my dreams i can only go a certain speed...to a certain concentration. The harder i concentrate the faster i go. But it is easier to 'just do it', meaning let go of all concentration and fly as you know how to walk.

I've had only one experience with flying. Basically I willed to fly and said "fly", and some force lifted me up. But it fades quickly, I had to say "fly" again.

Then I switched to just thinking "fly"...

      I surely need more practice...
