I Did It!

I'm not usually the type to be annoying and post messages with caps for titles and such but I DID IT I DID IT I DID IT. . . and I'm just so excited I had to tell EVERYBODY! I just woke up and I'm still way too excited to calm down. . . sorry sorry sorry for being so spazzy. Here it is: METHOD: I decided to try a WBTB WILD. I went to bed near midnight but ended up tossing and turning till 1:30 . . . I woke up exactly 30 seconds before my alarm was suppose to go off at 6 am! How weird is that??? SO I got up and ate 2 oreo cookies with chocolate frosting on them. . . had a glass of ice tea and couple potato chips. . . smoked two cigarettes and read some posts on here. . . Then I went back to bed at 7. . . unfortunately the whole WILD thing didn't really work for me. I got a little freaked when I was concious during the hypnogogic imagery stuff and the werid paralysis feelings and accidently woke myself up. I decided to try again but it didn't work . . . I ended up remaining awake until after 8 am. I finally fell asleep but wasn't concious for it. Then I had a DILD! The Dream: I'm sleeping and my mom yells for me to wake up . . . I've missed school because it's 3:45 pm but I have a dentists appointment in 15 minutes. I get up and as I'm walking to the bathroom I realize that I'm dressed in a very cute little outfit and I think my mom must have dressed me while I was sleeping. I get to the bathroom and I look in the mirror. . . at first it's my own image but then my face slowly starts to change and look more masculine. . . my hair starts getting shorter. . . I reach my hands up to touch my hair and my reflection doesn't move. . . I suddenly realize I'M DREAMING. . . so I do a reality check. I pinch my nose to see if I can breathe and I CAN. What a weid sensation THAT is! So I somehow fall back on the bathroom floor in surprise and start trying to change stuff. . . my clothes, my appearance, objects in the room. . . but everything is happening the opposite of what I want. . . I tried to change my pants and they became bright purple velvet courderoys with giant gold stars, lol. . . . I start to get a bit frustrated that nothing will do what I want and I find myself woken up in my bed (but I'm not gonna fall for a false awakening&#33 . . . I do a reality check and I'm still dreaming but now I can't seem to get ANYTHING to happen. . . I move, I sit up, I close my eyes and open them again and all I can see is the same spot of my bedspread with an ashtray and the white wall behind it. At this point I get too frustrated close my eyes and shake my head and when I open my eyes I'm in my real room, in my real bed. So it wasn't that great of an LD but it lasted for several minutes and I know now that I should have just calmed myself down in the first place. . . tried some spinning. . . and attempted to exert a little less control over my environment. Not bad for a first (secondish) attempt! I definitely learned some things NOT to do if you find yourself in an LD.

Congratulations , here's to many more Lucid Dreams to come . WILDs are supposed to be very hard, I'd stick with MILDs and DILDs for now.

Thanks! Now that I know I can do it on purpose, I'm hoping it'll boost my confidence and that by itself will cause more LDs. I wish there was a workbook to help you get better at it you know? With exercises to help you learn to exert control over things. I've been spending so much time on here looking up ways to get an LD. . . I've neglected the "what to do once you're in them" areas. OOOO. . . I can make a signature now! Too fun.

Congradulations! This is the exact thing I did a few days ago. I attempted a WILD, but ended up falling asleep. Right when I got into it I knew I was dreaming. Do you think it had to do with the cigarette? If you do, please go and tell Ne-yo. He's having a hard time believing it. Bleh. But congrades again.

I also had chocolate and caffeine though so it could have been those as well. I've never tried the WBTB thing before either. . . I meant to go for a drive but when I woke up I was so tired so I ended up just sitting on my comp reading posts and stuff.

I'm going out tonight to buy a 1 gallon tub of Ben and Jerry's chocolate ice cream so I can make sure I always have chocolate on hand and my ice tea pitcher will never be empty again.

I don't feel the vibrations any more, my mind just shuts them out.

See, I don't get that, most of the time. I do sometimes, when I take B6, but usually I don't. It's not neccessary to WILD, but depending on what technique you're using, it helps.

I also had chocolate and caffeine though so it could have been those as well.[/b] Doubt it was the cigarette - I find it hard to believe there can be any substances in tobacco that are helpful for inducing LD's. As for chocolate, I'm with Oneir. However, I think it was simply that you had the intention of lucid dreaming still in your head - you may have been trying too hard at first, then you let your guard down the second time and relaxed. Then it happened. There is such a thing as trying too hard. You get frustrated. Congrats anyhow!
