Thread: Finally!

I managed to realise it, but not in the way i was intending. I had taken the dream laid out by my subconcious hook-line & sinker. Somehow we had managed to travel to Australia (visited last year) in 45 minutes over land or something - how this was done was a little hazy but somehow acceptable.

So there i was doing and accepting like i've done in every other dream. Places looked like where i had really been, and others looked like where i live. In this particular place it looked like the leading out of the very straight main road that was built up on a roman road with fields rolling off far to the sides of it. People were celebrating something or other & there was planes flying about doing various stunts and alsorts of activities going on.

We had gotten bored of this and decided to go and visit some relatives or another (ficticious as we have none over there) and i was quite amused to find the grandmother looked not unlike a ginger bloke with a small beard!! I couldn't wait to tell all my friends when we get back and i had to hold my laughter from them to above insulting them.

I think there must have been a few dream signs knocking about because one or two people seemed to have surround setups in their living rooms (including these oldies!) and upon closer examination of the LCD display revealed channel names identical to the ones that the KX Drivers for my audio card refers to in the internal DSP setup (music orientated drivers for SB cards) but it did not click with me at the time.

But throughout i kept coming back to the fact of how little time it took us to get there. My first thoughts were of amazement but acceptance, but at this point of having pissed around with the speaker settings i started to wonder things... Then views seem to blur. One moment i would be there, another i was in my parents room with all this stuff layed upon the bed.

I really began to doubt the falliblity of traveling to this place in such a short space. Then i heard the tremelo of a Timpani, the single tone of a bass drum, a flash of an outline of the sword that i intended to use as my DS/RC then it hit me - i realised i was in a dream!

At this exact stage of realisation i settled upon the location of the bed and instantly my mother whom was also there stopped talking. She went mute and lifeless - not dead mind, just indifferent looking in my direction as if waiting to be instructed on what to do next. Assumedly i was my subconcious doing all the talking etc and i had cut that path of communication and i was in control!

I had a slight slip of wanting to wake up but i managed to supress it successfully. I then had thoughts of what i wanted to do next - i had decided in RL that should i go Lucid i wished to go Middle Earth in the Third age so not to waste any time. I had thoughts of pointy hats, green lush fields, the Shire i think It wasn't quite the idea i had in mind as going as myself with my RC sword that would be light and sharp in my dreams (it is for display in reality) but in either case i picked up this staff that was now lain on the bed and got myself prepared and said 'right then, now i want you to..' and i felt myself slipping out of dream due to frickin noises from the real outside. I fought to hang in there, but regretably i woke up.

I then did an RC with the sword at the end of my bed (is it light, is it sharp?) and proceeded to write this lengthy post on Dream View! Hopefully my next LD wont be so short, but i'm glad i managed some self-control of my environment. I also see a few other new posts from noobs managing this also - congrats to you all!!
