Ok so I just had the most vivid and longest (about 2 hours) lucid I've thusfar had. I was in my house at a family get together and realised instantly that i was dreaming, without any particular trigger. I think this was due to the type-induction i had done before going to sleep (basically typed out my intentions but text sticks to me more, although Merlock thinks it was probably just noob excitement)
      but anyway...
I was pretty conscious in the dream, and it was very realistic. But the thing is, I wasn't me. I mean, i was me but i wasn't doing any of the things i had planned to do nor anything i would want to. Basically I was walking round my dream trying to control every attractive girl i saw into having sex with me. This is not only against my christian beliefs but just isn't like me. I don't value random sex, real or imaginary.
What i really wanted to do with my first long lucid was create and accurate representation of the environment of my university and see if i could learn to do some tricks (parkour kind of stuff. google 'parkour' if you don't know what it is, it's awesome) using the architecture and the landscape which would carry over to real life (long shot, but i thought it was worth a try).
The thing i want to ask is; What. The. Hell. How come even though i was pretty conscious i acted like someone else? And at the time i didn't think it was weird at all. But when i got up i felt pretty sick with myself.

I'd say you weren't really lucid, else you would be yourself like you are when you are awake.

I was definetely lucid. There was this one part where i was flying through the countryside and saw this really beautiful yellow flower and i reached out and touched it. It felt, smelt, and looked more real than a real flower. Was absolutely insane. And i remember my thoughts, they were all very conscious and I was fully aware I was dreaming, I tried to excert control on the dream several times, with varying levels of success. It was literally just as if my consciousness had been transferred into another's mind.

Hmm...you won't always be able to make perfect decisions under some levels of awareness. And sometimes you won't remember certain goals and sometimes you will. I guess it's practice and awareness.

Like one time I had a low level lucid dream, and I couldn't remember I was dreaming or where I was until I was beginning to wake up. I was in control, but it felt spontanious...again, levels of awareness.

I might be wrong, but it could be this.

That happens to me a lot, I always make stupid decisions during lds that leave me wondering why I wasted such a good opportunity to do something cool once I wake up. You just have to be calm and remember to focus once you're lucid. Concentrate for a while on completely "waking up" However, you were most def lucid, being lucid is only defined as knowing that you're dreaming. You don't have to be able to control anything. That's where the problem is happening, your level of control.

That's the thing, I was in complete control. I felt just as conscious as I do right now and my level of control in the dream was pretty high. I wasn't shifting my dreamscape or anything but my thought process was very clear, it just wasn't my thought process.

When I first attempted lucid dreaming that was actually what I wanted to do to, Parkour. It is a lot of fun in real life although I don't do it quite as much as I used to.

About your motive in the dream, it is said by many well-known psychologist (Frued) that dreams are a chance to fullfill goals and unconscious(sp?) desires.

That's what lucid dreaming is all about. Complete control. Good job.

Thanks, I knew i wouldn't have a problem with dream control because I've always had a lot of control of my mind (I daydream a lot)

I've always wanted to practice parkour in lucid dreams. It sound like you had an awesome dream.

I don't consider two hours patrolling for ass to be a good dream (except for a short bit near the end where i forgot about sex and flew down a river and became more conscious than i usually am)

Have you ever thought .... maybe it is what you wanted to do? on a subconcious level?

I assume, keyword assume, your a horny teenager (just like me, no one is being blamed or insulted here)? maybe you wanted those girls just because your body wanted them.

Just a thought, but if your absolutely sure that it would be against what you would do and you were in total controll...then I would put my money on you thinking you were in control but you werent.

None of that fits but maybe you're right. I dunno. Meh I don't really care anymore. It's passed and doesn't appear to be happening again. If my next lucid is similar I'll talk to a pro.

This happened to me a while ago (I still haven't had a LD where I actually am myself, as in thoughts and actions. :sigh: )

I was like going to someone's house or something, anyway I fell asleep there and had a dream (btw, this going to someone's house was actually part of a dream) and in the dream I realised I was dreaming and started flying, and there were other LDers and all. Thing was, the flying, everything felt so real, I knew I was dreaming, yet I never was going to try flying in my first LD. I wanted to shapeshift and do some other stuff. Yet I acted completely differently.

Anyway, I think it just happens sometimes. Good luck having another LD!

You gotta love those long ones. I can't say I've ever had a really long one where I've had a high level of lucidity at all times. But, who knows what the future will hold. :-)
