A couple of nights ago I had my second lucid dream. And I wasn't even trying.

My dream:

I was in my bedroom. I knew I was dreaming, though I had no proof. Everything seemed quite ordinary. So I decided to fly just to prove to myself that I was dreaming. And so I did. I sort of floated in the air into the room next to my bedroom. In my dream my boyfriend (the guy I live with) was sitting by the computer in this room, but I knew it was not real, because I knew he was sleeping in the bed beside me. I watch him reboot his computer and curse. Then I left the room and decided it had to be daylight, otherwise I would not be able to see much in my dream.

And when I looked out the window it was daylight, but cloudy. I wondered to myself wether or not I would be able to fly through the window. I tried, but no such luck. So I pressed my fingers against the window, and closed my eyes, and felt my fingers pass through the glass as if it was made of some sort of plasma, and eventually I was able to push the glass in the window out to the side, and fly through the window.

I headed straight for the sky, only to remember I did not know how to fly at will in my dreams. I sort of used my arms as wings, and it worked. I got so far out into space that I could see all of my country as if I was looking at a globe. But then I felt myself drawn towards the place where I knew a man I once loved are living, and I paniced, because I did not want to see him, and so my lucid state vanished.

- end of dream -

What I do find rather strange is that I did not try to have a lucid dream that night, and I did not use any technique that I have read about. And I had no trouble staying lucid, until I paniced about the guy. It that normal? (Please forgive if I write english in a somewhat strange manner, I am norwegian, so english is not my native language).

Nice lucid and congrats on the flying, it took me over 10 LDs to finally fly! The dream seemed quite cool especially the whole going through the window.

You seemed to have had a DILD where you just randomly knew you were dreaming. Its easy to wake up when you start to panic, so theres nothing to worry about there.

Keep up the good work

That is a cool dream. I love flying but I often forget to try or else I am scared, for some reason. Once I ran and dove at a window to get out of a room I was trapped in, and I flew around pretty high for a while, but I never went out into space. I tried to get thru a train window once, and the glass just stretched around my hands. So I think you were pretty successful! Maybe if you had been reading about lucid dreaming lately, that was enough to induce a lucid dream. Hopefully it will continue to be so easy for you.

P.S. your english is fine.

I haven't been reading about lucid dreams lately, but I must have had it somewhere in the back of my mind I suppose. And I dream a lot about flying, I guess that is why it only seemed naturally to me to be flying in a lucid dream as well. I only wish I could do it the way superman does, that would have been really cool

Dream Induced Lucid Dream - see the acronym list in the tutorial section for more info.

And like NeAvO said, you definitely had a DILD - where you spontaneously knew you were dreaming. Most of my LDs are DILDs. This is normal, and it's actually a good thing since you don't really have to try - it just happens.

And welcome to the forum - your English is great so don't worry about that!
Looking forward to seeing you around the forum.
