Hello all.
I have just joined this group after experiencing my first lucid dream last week (a friend told me what it was called after hearing my experience and I looked it up on the net and found this website), anyway. During my dream (which was during an afternoon nap) I opened my eyes on a number of occasions and the view was exactly the same each time - the bedroom window and surrounds my vehicle parked in the driveway outside - . On one occasion during the dream I decided to walk into the loungeroom, which I did and I thought that I was actually doing it, sleepwalking but once in the loungeroom I started to levitate and realised that this could not happen. I made a conscious decision to open my eyes and I saw the view of my bedroom window and the vehicle parked outside. When I closed my eyes again, I was back in the loungeroom and I realised that I was dreaming about walking into the loungeroom.
When I got back into the bedroom I made a conscious decision to open my eyes again and the save view was there. I tried to move my head and eyes but could not, the view stayed the same, so I made a mental note of everything I could see down to a green ribbon hanging on the wardrobe door at the edge of my periphiral vision. I then woke up (for real) and opened my eyes and the view was exactly what I had seen during my sleep and dream.

I am convinced that during my sleep and dream, I was actually able to open my eyes.
Is this a typical experience?

Regards. Ronstek.

PS. This was my first (and only ) lucid dream and was such an awsome experience that I immediately wrote out exactly what I had experienced (after telling my wife). If anyone is interested in reading it I might be able to attach it sometime.
