      Dream guides

Anyone believe in dream guides, or spirit guides, or any thing else of that type?

I don't know if there is but I really wanted to try and find one, even if it was just a made up dream person from my unconscious mind. Just wanted to really talk to a person in my dream. I noticed whenever I talk about dream stuff people in my dreams start to act weird, and you can never get a stright answer from them, and then if I look for a dream guide or something even weirder stuff happens.

Like last time I was looking when I tried calling out for it, I wouldn't be able to speak. And then all the lights kept going out every 20-30 seconds about 10 different times untill I woke up.

And I had a dream where I was looking for it again tonight. I tried thinking of it and walking into rooms expecting for him to be standing there, didn't work. So I tried calling out but as soon as I did every thing started to fade. I was able to stop it though, so I called out again and the lights went out and I turn them back on.

I saw something really weird then though, I was in the bathroom and I saw out of the corner of my eye, in the mirror some person wearing a light blue cape run by. Room was to small to go any where though so I guess it ran through the wall.

Anyway I called out again and right on cue everything started looking weird. Instead of fading though I kind of saw myself in my bed, and in the dream at the same time. It like had flashes of me in my room. Could see like the wall in my dream and infront of it would be the sheets on my bed. Looked really weird but then I woke up but it was really a false awakening.

Not sure if I really believe in a guide, but if there is one I think hes a lazy bum, my mind really doesn't want me to see him, or he has a weird sense of humor.

I tried again tonight. Seems like I just can't let it go(or think about anything else I want to try while dreaming). I tried asking and begging for it to show up, nothing happened at all, so I kept trying.

So I am sitting there calling out when I see a flash of red light in the hallway, and this guy runs in(he looked kind of like a klingon). I think he was being attacked by something so he came into the room to try to get away. He kind of scared and I knew he wasn't my dream guide so I told him to go away so he turned around and was about to go out the door when I had a second thought.

It didn't seem like anyone else was going to come by so I figured scary or not I was just going to talk to him. So I say "Wait, who are you?" and he says something like "To him(the guy comming after him) I am an intruder". After he says that though I just woke up instantly. Was no signs of the dream fading or anything and it was very clear, I just woke up. Thought it was kind of weird I got a klingon though.

Well, I do have a dream guide from what I can tell. I have spoken to him several times. The dreams I talk to him in I am very lucid. It is almost as if he increases it. When I do things I am not supposed to do he stops me. One time I tried to see the future and he appeared before me and stopped me. Told me I am not supposed to do that. He has told me tiny bits of the future though.

You can't call him whenever you please. He usually just appears in a dream at some point. Sometimes I call to him and he comes. Anyways, when the time is right he will come.

Oh yeah, one time I ran into him I kept asking who he was. He said, "who do you think I am"? After I woke up I realized who it was though. He also talked to me about other things. You can tell when it is more than just a dream character in your dream. They way he talks is much different than the way dream characters talk.

If I could get a stright answer from him he would be different from other dream people heh. Even if you can't just call him, you would think if you spend a lot of time looking for him he would show up some time.

By the way if he gave an answer like that "Who do you think I am?", I think I would assume hes a normal dream person and get mad at him. I would say most dream people I see while lucid, who I talk to all seem weird and give answers like that. Some kind of scary, some annoying, I don't think any was a dream guide though.

In one of my lucid dreams, I did a weird thing. I 'created' a dream guide. I said, more or less 'Create a character who is the essence of my lucidity.' The man that resulted had a handlebar moustache and a yellow spandex suit and a red cape. Needless to say, he was extremely silly looking. I called him 'Don't Do Man' and I gave him orders like making pictures in the sky. He hasn't appeared in any of my subsequent dreams, which I'm quite pleased about. I mean I wouldn't want my dream guide to be a overly camp superman clone.

I've had very similar experiences as you Alric, and I'd just say, don't give up! Maybe they don't exist "for real", but I have faith that you can learn a lot from your dreams, afterall, they're a part of your mind somehow!

You seem to be getting a lot of recurring things happening when you go searching for your dream guide. My best bet would be that this might mean that you're not "ready" to meet him/her yet, and that you will when the time is right. Don't give up - explore your dreams, ask questions, and perhaps even more importantly, explore life! I know it soudns cheesy, but perhaps your dream guide will come upon completing some task in real life, or when you're in trouble and need your guide.

I think the key is having confidence in your dreams that your guide certainly does exist (it has has, it's your mind!) and that it'll come when the time is right. I also suspect that when you meet your dream guide, you'll know it - either in the dream or after it, and won't need to ask random people on the street in your dreams (I did the same thing!)

Best of luck on your journey and search!
