Well, the night after my first post here I had my most lucid dream yet! Still nowhere near a high lucid but I was able to control it and stop myself losing it for a while.
The weird thing is, the DCs in it were really unhelpful - they kept grabbing me and wouldn't let me spin until I had bowed down to their king?! No idea where that came from. In the end, I did, to shut them up... I wasn't quite lucid enough to realise I could control them, although I did realise they weren't real ("Piss off, I'm dreaming! You aren't here!").
I guess I just have to remember they're my creations next time, it was weird enough that I thought I'd share it with you...any similar experiences/tips for dealing with unruly DCs?
Made you look. Er, now do a reality check or something.

if they grab you... don't be solid anymore? that, or get violent... but violence is never the answer... well... unless they really piss you off

I experienced somethin similar a while ago, they said it was because I broke some unwritten law, got me kicked out of their city. It could be a representation of our own self doubt? I duno. I just ended up leaving quietly

Oh, I know that feeling, once, when I was having a dream, I when I was lucid enough to realize that I don't have to fight a giant freaky flower, the DCs that were with me decided to attack me I guess they thought I was it's minion or something

DCs are so funny. Although in my LDs they have acted normal. Myabe it is because I never talk to them unless I know them, which I usually have a friend DC in every one of my LDs.

Controlling their actions with your mind would probably require too much effort, putting the dream out of balance and causing you to awake. So the best tip I have for you is that you use your dream body to handle them. Throw them away, make them submit to you through force or kill them. Do what you find most suitable.

Most importantly, remember to not doubt yourself. If you have doubts, you will end up weak and incapable of dealing with them.

      Lightbulb

lucid bulb, technically the monster was your minion. so naturally they would attack you.
and as far as stopping them from doing any given thing, i'd suggest to simply think them to stop. i mean you are creating them, spinning them into existence, so why would you ever HAVE to fight them. of course that's only in theory, because i've obviously been unable to do this before... however, now that i thin of it, none of my DCs have ever GOT me. and they've even tried to shoot me... it always has missed *shrugs*

Lol, I see your point. I've gotten used to not controlling myself while lucid (thanks to years of not knowing what lucid dreams were and the point of staying lucid) so I may have lots of LDs but have little control over the dream. By then I was probably kinda out of my lucidity so that's why I felt like I had to fight them.

I do know what you mean by never getting killed by them (or marred in general), but I kind of get caught up in the action and non-existant danger as to do irrational things, but they're fun you know, so I guess it's all good. (Though I have gotten myself killed before by doing stupid things, in comparison to living after repeatedly jumping 300 floors going up them and down them)

last night, i had a dream that i was sitting at my computer with a friend looking at travel pictures. i saw one of myself and thought, "hey, that never happened!" so i turned to my friend and said, "are you a dream character?" to my surprise, he just smiled at me, as if he were trying to hide it. i then knew it was a lucid dream, although i was a little frusturated my dream character wouldnt just tell me outright. i started laughing and my friend says, "what are you doing?" i said, "i'm lucid dreaming!" and then he says... "well... what am i doing?" and i said, "you're in a dream!"
