My first lasted a couple of minutes and my second lasted around the same. That was 5 or 10 years ago. When I started practising they lasted a couple of seconds but after a few days they are starting to be around 5-10 minutes.
How long were your first Lucids?

After practicing dream recall for a while, i had my first lucid time a couple of weeks ago. I was in front of my father (whom i think is one of my dreamsigns as he died three years ago) and suddenly felt like i was aware i was dreaming. As soon as i realized that, the dream changed and awareness was gone. A couple of seconds?

My first experiences were similar. I would realize I was dreaming, then I would wake up because I got too excited. That or I would kind of "fall" back into my body. Weird feeling. It seems that for most people the length of lucid dreams increases as they practice dreaming longer.

I had my first lucid yesterday, I think it lasted a couple of minutes.

Here is a description of the dream.

First ones under one minute, now, I am getting about 45 minutes of high quality lucids on good nights. I still have the occasional few seconds long ones, but those seem mostly due to outside disturbances

My first lucid dream was when I was five or six. I don't know how long it lasted because I thought it was very natural to know that you are dreaming. Since then I've had like a few thousands of them (don't know the number but many ) and even now I don't count them to be special to have them. Different thing is a vivid dream, but that's not an ordinary abstract lucid dream, it's more of an advanced lucid dream. And yeah, if I try to induce them, the vivid ones, I can have like 5 or more in one day.

It's 45 minutes of time you spend while sleeping or... how do you count time in a dream anyway? I remember having pretty long ones (vivid lds and lucid dreams as well) but I don't know how is it possible to just say that dream was this long.

I remember having an LD for a few hours (at least it felt that way) as a kid but it was no vivid at all, just abstract. But it has had a cool story.

I've never had a lucid to last over maybe 10 minutes, but they always have a massive effect on me - inspiring and liberating. They did get longer, the problem with me was to address the excitability issue. I'd often wake myself up just because I got so pumped up about being lucid, then I'd be really pissed off.

Longest LDs I've had I was actually 'trapped', but that made them less fun for some reason.

If I can remember correctly , my first Lucid dream didn't last very long because of the shock of knowing I was dreaming. I think it lasted only 3 min or shorter. Though, my second LD I remember lasted forever .. well a long time in the dream world anyway

Perhaps five seconds. Got so excited and I flew away but I couldn't control myself so I flew higher and higher until I woke up.
Currently practicing WILD. I quote Kaniaz who said it best: "The point of WILD is to piss me off". Though, I have not given up, far from it.

My first lucid (after I started LDing on purpose) lasted around 1 minute. The next one lasted maybe 2 minutes. I guess my longest LD has been up around 10 minutes. 8-10 minutes.

I suppose everyone's talking about vivid LDs but not common LDs. And by the way if you get excited in common ld NOTHING happens, BUT if you get excited in VIVID ld then you can wake up.

I know this one because my first was not that long ago. I've only had 3 and they were all short and I didn't have complete control. I couldn't create dreamscapes and everytime I tried to spin I'd wind up in the same place with a few changes here and there. After a few minutes I guess I somehow lost lucidity and began regular dreaming.

My first lucid dream was very good. I would say an hour, maybe only 45 mins. It was really long and vivid. I thought i woke up from excitement in the first 5 seconds... but it was an FA. I got lucky .
