if this is in the wrong forum, i apologize and maybe an admin could move me....

i swear to god, this is hysterical. or hysterically stupid. last night, in my OH-SO-CLOSE to being a LD, i asked a DC to do a RC because i wanted him to be into the whole LD thing, and he was like, "eh, screw it. that stuff is stupid." then he folded his arms and sat back in his seat with a stupid grin on his face that made me want to kill him and then pee on him for some reason.

so like a TOTAL IDIOT, i just turned around in my seat (we were on a magic bus, i won't get into that), and just LET IT BE. all i had to do was do a RC of my own, and i would have realized i was dreaming. the DC was practically EGGING ME ON to do a RC. it's things like this that make me SO PISSED OFF when i don't realize i'm lucid.

feel free to throw in any similar experiences. godddamn it, that was like 18 hours ago and i'm still pissed.

Yeah I totally blew my chance as well last night. I became lucid and then convinced myself to lose lucidity

wow kinda similar to the dream i had last night, where a DC was trying to explain his way to RC and I thought it was a stupid RC lol. He would put his hand over his eyes, imagine another location, then slowly take his hand away while making his eyes flicker, and if he ends up in that location, hes dreaming. i shouldve just shown him a simple RC then i wouldve become lucid myself.
      am i dreaming?

I actually had a thread of all the STUPID ways that I have screwed up my LDs. In one of them, I wanted to go home, and I knew that the fastest way to get home was to wake up, because I knew that I was asleep in my bed.
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.

Lol. In one of my dreams, I became semi-lucid and decided to do a reality check. It failed. For the rest of the dream, I was sure that I wasn't dreaming. In my mind, I was thinking about how I was not dreaming during the dream. Just lol.

I've actually gone lucid, and then decided I didn't want to be lucid, and lost it

Though for me to do something like that requires a very low level of lucidity so I'm not too angry about it.

god, i had another one the other night.

i did a nose-plug RC, and i could KIND of breathe through it, but not with the ease i had had in the past (only had tried it once, and i could breathe 100% easily)... so i just assumed there was a logical explanation and lost a chance at lucidity.

      damn it.

The "nose pinch" RC is not reliable enough to be worthwhile doing, IMO. I find "looking at one's hands" much more reliable.

The anecdotes about DCs trying to make you lucid are interesting, because in my experience, it is not a common thing to happen... but why don't the DCs just say "you are dreaming!"? Why all the games?

A case in mind is that of a friend of mine who had been trying to have her first LD, using the "looking at one's hands" RC, upon which she concentrated while awake. One day she reported a dream in which a woman placed a gold coin in her palm, and kept looking at it, motioning my friend to do so also. She asked me what I thought and I said that I thought that the DC was trying to get her to look at her hands, NOT the coin... but why the subterfuge? Why don't the DCs just say plainly and simply "You are dreaming"? An enigma..

Theres been people yelling at me to do a reality check and do I do one? Nooo... there's been time that I did a reality check, and it worked but did I go lucid? Nooo... There's been times in a dream I thought "This is a stupid dream" but somehow I still wasn't lucid! As for wanting to kill dc's I defintly want to get revange on some of them . Was soooo close last night too, but I never really had the urge in a dream to pee on someone.

Heh. I had a false awakening immediately following a Lucid Dream where a couple of DC's chewed me out and made me apologize for having my recent LD.

My guess is that DC's are really just puppets controlled by our dream guides. And dream guides get awfully bored, sometimes.
