On my first lucid dream, i appeared in my math class, and there was a blue-grain appearance to everything. I said "hey awesome, im dreaming. I tried to move my right arm, but i went to fast and destroyed the dream. I talked with my friend and he said the same thing happened to him. Is it fairly common on the first LD to immediately try and move your primary arm?

I guess you just were unlucky. The first lucid-dream tends to be very unstable. Almost anything will break the dream. It changes very fast though. In 1 or 2 lucids, you'll have way more stable lucid-dreams

I see, I guess it would be attributed to the brain not knowing how to habdle this new mode of thinking.

Nah, it's the fact that you've read about people having unstable lucids. Then you think "Oh my, I'm gonna be unstable aswell" and that's what you were.

Yeah, you just had an overall unstable dream, it'll go away after a while, i hear it happens to all first time LDers [I wouldn't remember... curses]. When you're lucid again just remember that you have full control over everything [and you have to mean it too]

Yeah, my first LD was unstable too. A pop-up box showed up in front of my eyes and said "Fatal Error. This Lucid Dream will end in 5 seconds." And sure enough, it did!

You just need more experience, after a while your mind gets used to the idea of LDing and you stop waking up.
