Thread: First Lucid Flying Experience?

My first time attempting to fly was pretty tough. I wasn't sure where to start or what to think. I was in my friend's neighborhood in the middle of the street with a few of my friends watching; I just closed my eyes and imagined myself hovering over the ground.

When I opened my eyes back up, I was looking over the entire neighborhood, but was immediately awaken by an alarm clock : ( After that, in my second lucid dream, flying was no problem and was like I had been doing it for years. I just got up and flew : )

The first lucid flight ive had i was running down this street and everything went into slow-mo and i noticed i was dreaming. So while i was running i jumped and the launched myself off a table and flew for a while. then i woke up.

I have only flow in a lucid dream once. I was in a café or bakery type place in an old town location of a city. It was night time and there were many cars driving on the two-way street the shop was connected to. I was inside and I was trying once again to see if I was dreaming. A friend was there and I was talking with him. I was trying to change the color of a table cloth on a coffee table by thinking about it and counting to three. During my first attempt I said “Ok the table cloth is green, and I will change it to red on the count of three, 1,2,3”. Then the cloth turned blue. From this I new that I was dreaming, but also that I didn’t have much control over it. I decided to try again. This time I said “The cloth is white and I will turn it red on the count of three, 1, 2, 3”. This time the first four inches of the cloth closest to me turned bright aqua green, but that was it. In disappointment, I mentioned to my friend that “I can fly you know” he responded that he could too, so we walked outside. I was exited and was thinking that I would fallow him around through the sky. He took off and quickly rose into the night sky. I jumped and fly up, but then peaked at around 50 feet from the ground, only to plummet back down into the street. Once I made it to the sidewalk, I thought to myself that I hoped someday I would be as good as him at flying.

Is there some reason I experienced limitations with everything i tried?

The time i flew was in my second lucid.

i realised i was dreaming because i was waiting for goat people to come kill me. and i just went out the door completely ditching the guys i was with, I flew to the hight of my house and played baseball with some guy that could do the same. lol

I've had so many flying LDs that I don't have the slightest clue what my first one was. Anytime I become lucid, the first thing on my mind is flying. I love it!

I was really little when I had my first flying LD, gee, I will tell you the oldest one I remember though, I was running from some people and jumped off a twenty story building and flew, I became lucid and flew off to who knows where.

My first LD was also my most intense flying experience. I was in a car driving along a country
ride toward the top of a hill. As I approached the top of the hill the car vanished and I continued
forward past the hills peak and started gliding over a valley. It was perhaps 100' to the bottom
of the valley. The valley was full of wild flowers of brilliant colors. I realized I was dreaming and
thought to my self how incredible it was that my mind could create this scene. As I continued flying
I gravitated toward a vortex in the sky. It was deep blue inside and brown on the outside. The
vortex was rectangular, wider than it was high. As I entered the vortex I came out the other
side - into ancient egypt. I was now hovering over the sphinx and great pyramids. I continued to
fly but was now decending toward an opening at the pyramid base. When I reached the opening I
entered and continued along the dark path unable to see anything. I then woke up.

I don't think I've ever flown in a lucid dream

First that I can recall occured whilst I was standing in this old mossy temple with about 6-7 stone pillars surrounding the center. I figured that if I stood next to one of these pillars, there was an energy that I could kinda grab onto and focus it in my solar plexus and by willing the energy to increase, I could fly, or at least float.

My first flying experiance was kind of weird. I was already lucid and I saw a concrete pool (as in a pool carved out of concrete) and I decided to fly over it. I ran and jumped into the air and kind of shot up, then stopped, the started slowly falling. I decided that If I flapped my arms I would fly, and it worked. Each flap sent me flying. It was fun.

I became lucid on a school buss, flew through the wall of the buss.

I wouldn&#39;t know, I can&#39;t seem to get off the damn ground. >.<

I got lucid in my living room, jumped straight through the roof of the house and woke up.

Flying is always the first thing I do in a LD.

Got closer to flying last night. I floated like 6 feet off the ground at one point. Also glided a while when I jumped out a window.

I was hit by a car, was sent flying through the air, and never hit the ground.

Hi, I&#39;m new here. Nice to find a place where I can share my Lucid Dreaming experiences. None of my friends really understand how amazing Lucid Dreaming is because they can&#39;t do it.

Anyway, I my first flying experience was about 10 years ago in college. I was sleeping in the library on my side, when all of a sudding i started spinning in place like a pinwheel. I got up from my seat and was still in library and decided to float around for a little while. Then I decided to fly and just shot straight up through the roof of the library like a ghost. when i looked down, it was just a sea of red bricks below (the commons area outside of the library was all red brick). Then I panicked and started falling to the ground which woke me up. I&#39;ve gotten much better at flying since then.

Mellowdiablo, hi&#33; I&#39;m new also, and I know how you feel: my friends also cannot understand what I&#39;m talking about. And it&#39;s pretty hard to describe, too. It amazed me when I learned that other people dreamed like that; a whole community of people&#33;

Anyway, I have been flying in dreams since I was little, I think the earliest I can remember is when I was three, and I was in a room without doors or windows, and yet it was filled with light like sunshine. The room was sky blue with clouds painted on the ceiling, and the only thing in it was a white ceiling fan. I remember flying around the ceiling fan, amazed at me flying and how pretty the room was. I&#39;m not sure how lucid that dream was, since I was so little I don&#39;t really remember.

Since then I&#39;ve had other lucid dreams that I just decide I want to jump and fly, and do&#33;

I&#39;ve been flying in dreams since I was about 6 or 7 years old. My first lucid dream was 11/11/05 and I flew in that dream just as well as I normally did. Since I started lucid dreaming my flying skill has increased a lot. I have pushed mysell hard on some occasions and managed to fly at hundreds of miles per hour.
