Okay, so heres the deal:
Me and two of my friends (F1 and F2) have been practicing lucid dreaming techniques for a few months. We have all three been able to attain a semi-lucid state by waking ourselves up mid-sleep and recalling our previous dreams, but none of us could sustain it for too long. About a week ago, though, i was out of town and recieved a call from F1. He explained that, after having gone a few days (unintentionaly) without practicing his techniques, he had gone to sleep semi sleep-deprived, and wound up attaining his first unprevoked lucid dream while dreaming he was in a enclosed mall, which while in his dream, he told himself "this mall is pretty unrealistic... i must be dreaming".
I returned home, and as myself and F1 were talking over the dream, F2 arrived and, before hearing either of us talking about the dream, proceeded to tell of his own dream. The circumstances were exactly the same, regarding having put off practicing his techniques for a few days, as well as his sleep deprived state prior to the dream. But more interesting was the fact that his dream occured while standing in an "obviously facticious mall" as he realized while dreaming. We were all blown away, but merely passed it off as a coincidence.
However, two days ago, while out of town and having completly put off practicing any lucid dreaming techniques (and needless to say, i was sleep deprived), i too achieved my first unprevoked lucid dream, and once again, it was in a MALL (which i told myself, in my dream, was "obviously not real")
So whats the deal? Does anyone have any theories on the collective unconscious (or even collective subconscious) which may be helpful to me?
