Dream-murder

There's this guy at my school who I effing HATE. He's a total freak. Well, you probably know how this ends. I'm in my bathroom (where I realizing I'm dreaming and become lucid), and suddenly Drew, the guy, shows up. i don't know why...but I grab his neck and I lift him up into the air and kill him. Sadly, this....rush?....woke me up so I didn't get to see him afterwards but...I know he died. The murder felt so real...as do most things in Lucid dreams feel. I just feel a little weird, you know? So what do you guys think about murder in LDs? Should I shrug it off for do something?

Good stress/anger relief. Sorta like one of my dream characters, of whom i see quite often in my dreams (good dream sign ), he never believes me that he doesn't *really* exist, so i ate him. Lucidity rocks..

You guys can find my opinion of this by searching other posts. Basically, my views are this: Conciousness, be it waking or lucid are one and the same. Whatever ethics you obey during waking conciousness apply during lucid conciousness.

The scary thing is that you didn't know why you grabbed his neck But ease yourself , i don't think that anything you do in your dreams when lucid affects your real life if you don't want to. Like laconix said , its a good anger/stress relief method But in any case , stay away from that guy for a while. Joking

The way I see it, in dream land, you can do whatever you want. You don't have to worry about any stupid laws and you don't have to take responsibility for your actions. You can kill and rape whoever you want, just don't do it in real life

Your not hurting anyone,if the only reason you wouldnt kill people is because fear of jail, then you will do it in a ld... If you are just a good person then you wouldnt. Im scared of jail, only reason why massive ammounts of people arnt dead LOL -IM A LD SERIAL MURDERER

My personal opinion on this is that you should just shrug it off, but try not to do it again. Though I don't think there is anything wrong with having for example matrix like dream fights, as though I haven't and don't really want to do them, they could be good stress relievers and relax you. On the other hand, if you really murder someone, though not harmful in real life, it is still unethical, as this is cold-blooded hate, not violence in the name of fun like videogames. I woulnd't worry too much about it, and start feeling bad, as it's just a dream, but I don't think it is something you should do.

It's all about yourself... If you feel bad killing in your dreams or that it somehow has bad influence on you or others in waking life, you shouldn't do it... Otherwise - CHOP HIS HEAD OFF NEXT TIME, if that makes you happy...

Be it ethical or not, I don't think that I want to start a habit of cruelty in my dreams, simply because they can (or so I hear,) be very realistic; and anything I don't want to do in real life, is not a good idea to in a dream. I also think that virtual reality FPS games would be a bad idea because of this.

Heh. I remember 2 or 3 nights ago i killed osmeon. i have no idea who he was. all i know is that he was chasing me, keeping me back from whatever i was trying to do. So i just constructed a specific situation so i can be alone with him, turned ot him and with one punch in the front of his neck, i killed him. He just felt on the floor. I felt nothing bad about it, that's what seemed weird; no resentiments, no nothing. Oh well. He was really a pain in the ass, you know.. Vox.

I once had a non-lucid dream where I was a theif-like person, sneaking into someone's house. Two kids woke up and saw me, so I shot them. When I realized what I had done, I was suddenly overcome with sadness, and woke up with a feeling of regret. I was relieved when I realized it was only a dream. In my opinion, though, it's perfectly fine to kill people in your dreams. I know that I'd do it without hesitation, they're just dream characters, figments of your imagination, you can do anything you want to them. As long as you don't do it in real life, go ahead.

I don't usually kill "innocents" in dreams (lucids or otherwise) but I don't think you should feel too bad about it (though I don't know how "innocent" this guy is). If you know that this is something that you would never do in waking life, and honestly don't believe that anyone is being hurt by your actions, I don't think you're doing wrong. On the flip side, maybe it's just a way of telling you that your grudge with this guy runs a little deeper than it should, and you should try to find a way to let it go, before it comes to a head.

I would probably be a rapist and bandit if I lived in the good ol' days when there was no equipment to figure out who that has commited a "bad" deed.

thanks for the info. One of my biggest flaws as a person is that I'm extremely empathetic- Killing peoples in my dreams is a little too frekkeh for me, I think I'm gonna try and not do it anymore- But hell, maybe my subconscious is a ravaging psycho killer? That oughta be fun.

If I am not mistaken empathy is knowing how others feel. Right? I think that is something that it would be nice if more people had that trait. If people saw a homeless person and thought, "oh, wow, how does this person live in the cold of winter like this?", instead of, "screw you, you'll just go and get drunk or stoned", and tried to help these people (though not necesarily by giving them cash directly, as they might actually go and get drunk/stoned with it), then we'd have less homeless people for example. Don't worry about it, I couldn't stand killing people in my dreams in non-matrix style ways (though sex is another story, I would just need to get lucid, and make the person want it (though I haven't managed to reach lucid sex, so close last night)).

LDs mirror one's real life, and murdering and raping (as recommended by some of the posters here) are the manifestations of very sick minds indeed. Not healthy at all.
