I have the ability that I can bail-out out of a dream that's spinning into a nightmare. I had this since I was a kid.
In one of my childhood dreams I was chased by a monster (or something else I just had to get away from). I was running along a street ajencent to a canal with the creature breathing in my neck. In my opinion my only option to escape my doom was to jump in the canal and swim away from it, hoping that the creature couldn't swim.
So i did... and... I woke up.
Sitting in my bed, drenched in seat, I immediately remembered what just happened and being in shock that I could alter my dreams apparantly locked this escape-sign in my mind. In present times I can still jump into any liquid pool (or even splash water in my face) and wake up from any nightmare.
Sometimes the nightmare are realy strong and I litteraly have to peel my eyes open (this is propably not real and a half-dream of some sort) but I allways win and wake-up using this watertechnique.
The problem is that I'm not allways this lucid. Sometimes I get the signs and sometimes I don't bother that the birds are flying backwards or I'm having this great conversation...with my dog.
By finding this website I hope i can train my skills I apparently allready have.
Does anyone else have this bail-out option in their dreams? What's your bail-out?
