Feeling Another's Presence during False Awakening

I was having some sort of dream where I was being "guided" by some dream character though I barely remember about that dream. When that dream ended, I thought I was awake (I found myself lying in bed in the bedroom of my previous home.) When I try to get up or look at the time, I hear this voice and feel the presence of some being telling me to stay put and that I shouldn't go away. I ignore it and try to go look at the time when that violently jerks me back into bed. My body starts shaking violently as I keep trying to pull myself up but keep getting pulled towards the bed by this being. I give up and black out as I lie in bed (the bed in my dream) and later feel that I'm being suffocated as it feels like someone's pressing down the front of my face. For about a minute, it can neither see or breathe as I struggle with the presence of the being right above my head. Even as I wake up, it took a few minutes to reorient myself b/c of this whole scary experience.

This experience has happened *twice* in the same day, both during naps (I usually catnap instead of getting a full night's sleep.) The second time, I knew what was going on and turned lucid though I could not run away, change the scenery, or wake up at will. Seems like an episode of sleep paralysis though such phenomon rarely happen in my life, at least those that I remember. (This would probably be my 4th or 5th incident of sleep paralysis in all my 21 years.)

This has happened to me quite a few times, I can't remember exactly how many. It's happened twice in the last couple weeks. I never remember any dream leading into it like you do, I just find myself in bed and I feel an evil presence with me. Usually all my efforts to break paralysis fail since once I think I've broken it I find I'm still asleep and re-paralyzed. Once I woke myself up by yelling as loud as I could until a tiny little "Meh!" came out of me in the real world and woke me up. Another time I felt dozens of fingers pinching at my blankets, I don't remember how I awoke from that. More recently I just willed my hand to move and it did, but this has never worked before. And in my most recent experience I heard a voice, I don't remember what it said to me, but I remember it was quite sinister.

These things are scary, and I envy anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of having one. The worst part of it is that you know exactly where you are. You know you're on the verge of being awake and you're concious. Even after reading that article linked at the bottom of this post I can't help wondering if they're more than dreams.

      Thats pretty freaky man.

Related to, I hate the feeling of being watched by something unknown, its quite different from 'human' glares, and where the eyes are glarring in my back, i feel cold...its strange.

Whenever I roll over onto to my right, facing towards the wall and away from my door, I can feel an evil sensation rising, like something very bad is at the edge of my bed. The longer I stay in that postion the stronger the feeling gets. I've tried to will myself to ignore it, but it's too strong. I can't say I've ever had old hag, though, I and sure as hell hope I never do.

Yeah, just like scientific explainations for OOBE's I never could find convincing with respect to my situation (and this is coming from someone who's studying in the sciences.)

      Welcome to the forum comos

I'm wondering does 梦魇 translate to Old Hag in English or do the Chinese have another name for it?

I think 梦魇 translates to Nightmare. (Used a translator, so don't hold me to it. )

I am a little surprised no one has mentioned Alien abductions in relation to this.
I saw a doco on a possible explanation for some abduction accounts.
Largely blamed a combination of sleep paralysis and the idea of alien abduction lurking way back in thier mind, ready to serve as an excuse/explanation.
A lot of the symptoms fit, and there has been a whole lot of 'alien' pop culture about for the past 60 years or so.
You can't help but wonder if a confused mind brings this up as an explanation for the experience.
Of course there are some abductees that will deny this totally, and 'some' probably rightly so.
I've been so lazy - someone kick me.

I once heard the voice of some supposedly evil spirit. (Satan?)

I don't remember the exact words, but it was telling me something about worshipping him.

Hehe.. don't mean to scare u guys. It's bound to happen after practicing LD'ing for so long!

Thats funny that you've mentioned that. Im 28 and I've been Lucid Since I was a child I can even remember my first Lucid Dream at 5yrs of age.. And never have I ever heard Satans voice or anything in relation toward any demonic activity. You may need to check your surroundings because something is not right in your house. Im not just saying that Im serious. Check your surroundings.

      TOPIC
I feel people underestimate the power of their imagination and what it is capable of. I have had similar feelings about being watched or feeling like somthing went through me. However to put it bluntly - It's all in your head. The more you pratice Lucid dreaming and hypnosis the more apt you are to have odd things happen because your abstact mind is becoming more aware.
This is why Lucid dreaming is a taboo topic and always gets castrated and shoved aside in the corner of the book store with witchcraft and ghosts.

It's the sigil/symbol of the archangel or seraph Uriel. The name Uriel means "Fire of God". I've also seen "Light of God", but I prefer the first.

As for a translation of the text Adonay Eieh Agla Eloha, they are also angelic names and Adonay can also mean God.

Yer know, thats *exactly* what i thought when i went through an Old Hag visit. They're as real as anything, but if you've enough sense of the world you know its not really real, but i could imagine someone less aware of things being convinced its real and has happened to them.

I wouldn't think much of it. Stress and anxiety can trigger the "old hag". As for freaky things... I believe in 'em, but at the same time I don't. I remember when I was asleep I would hear someone knocking on the wall next to my bed and it would wake me up. It kept happening for a while 'till one day I decided to videotape myself sleeping hoping to catch paranormal activity on the cam. It was truly messed up, someone was knocking... as it turns out I would knock on the wall, fully asleep, then the noise would wake me up.

      old hag..

Well im new too all this dreaming stuff only been investigating for a couple days and after rading this 1 post im scared and cba with lucid dreaming now. But i think ive had old hag or somethign very simlair.

happened to me about 4 or 5 times in the space of a month one of the most scariest things ive ever encountered. dont like talking about it really incase it happens again but ill share the experiences neway cus i wanna see wot u ppl think.

everytime it happens when im taking a short nap or fading slowly to sleep. I fall asleep and awake soon after not being able to move. i can not move a sinlg epart of my body and it kinda hurts if i try hard so i kinda give up. the scariest part is i can open my eyes full and see my room and everything in it , but my eyes sting and really hurt so i have to shut them within a few seconds. Cus of this i have to go bak to sleep which takes a few seconds in this state. the next phase is worse. everyime apart fomr the once my legs have been pulled up in the air by something no idea wot but its not nice. i struggle as much as i possible can to pull them down then i awake legs flat on bed. The one other time it was my head beeing pulled up THAT WAS THE WORST. the weridest part about this whole experience is that it happend 4 or 5 times within about 1 month and when i awake i am sure im 100% awake i can open my eyes !!! and once i heard the music i left on when i went to sleep. the month they all happend was 6 months ago now just before i moved house but it also happend once at my dads but i did not have the paralize state. I wud like more infromation on what this cud be please nothing to weird dunno how im gonna sleep tonight as it is...

Sounds like really, REALLY, bad dreams to me. Night terrors to be exact. See in your dreams you can feel pain. Some people do some people don't. Once I dreamnt a monkey pulled off two of my teeth, and it felt very real. I could feel my gums with my tounge. I think this is what's bothering you. Don't know how to fix it, sorry, hope it helped though.

      lucid dreaming

is lucid dreaming somehow related to evil or spritually things. Or is it purly a natrul experience which most people can gain which can be fun.

ok 1st i like to say this is excelent. i found a great site. ppl with things like me . ne ways i have had this i posted n reply 15 min to someone else about what to do. its very hard to get out of it. but can be done. when u wake up still dreaming like this all u do is close your eyes. and look at your hands if u can stil dream{u should}.dont bother speaking cause u cant if u do u will end up screaming and wake everyone up lol. then u feel dumb. this took me awhile. i get this type of dreaming phenonima 1-2x every 1-2 months give or take. believe it or not but someone mention these alien abduction with it. my first expeince with sleep para. was when i was 12.{i am 25 now} i had a freind stay over he was asleep on the floor.early that day we found some strange circle rings we kept{i threw em out the next day lol} sorry side tracking... but i dont remmeber what i was dreaming... but i remember opening my eyes to see my room glowing all kinds of colors brightly and my blankets floating 4 ft above me or so with the ends by my feet tucked. i wanted to reach for the lamp but couldn't. i tried to yell at my friend to wake up i coudl see him. but i couldn't. soon i started to tremble then i slowly shook out of it and woke him up. he said he seen nothing. lol i felt dumb. but i was a kid. and learned over the proceding yrs that its life. and its happened to me over 100x. and as 1 month ago i have defended 2 of them . look at your hands whiel u dream and then think of something else. then look away from your hands. it should appear. if not, practise. may take awhile. its like lifting wieghts, u will get stronger. g night im going to the astro plains myself now
Know not what is there, but know what isn't. With this u can have the power to selfwill.
