      Lucid again after three years

It's been a while since I've posted here or had an ld, but I finally started putting out a little effort since these are my last few weeks between college graduation and full-time employment. After failing all other methods consistently, I finally tried WBTB and got results after only two days.

After going about 24 hours without sleep, I took a two hour nap and woke up due to noise. I then went back to sleep and the dream started. I shouldn't have been surprised that I found myself on Colonial One after rewatching two seasons of Battlestar Galactica over the past week. I'm guessing I was playing the part of Gaius Baltar since it involved a trist with Six, but about as soon as it started, I had a false awakening at a desk in the same ship. The earlier part of the dream was playing on a monitor. At that point I started hitting the monitor trying to reenter the dream and then realized I was dreaming and not exactly myself at the moment. I noticed Six enter a doorway to my right and I woke up. When I looked at my clock, only ten minutes had passed, I was wide awake, and most of all relieved it was over.

Out of the four lucid dreams I've had over the years, this was the most realistic in terms of my senses and the vividness of memory after waking. I'm excited about having my first ld in a long while and in such short order after trying again, but if you've followed the show, you'd know why such a dream would scare me absolutely crapless for a few minutes.

I've had dreams mess with my head a few times before, but not to this level. I was excited when I became lucid in my other ld's, but it was the first time I was ever truly fearing for my life. Still, I wouldn't mind picking up where I left off in the dream just to have one of the messed up conversations Gaius went through in the show, scary as the whole thought of it happening again is.

Wish me luck on attempting WILD again. Hopefully it won't be the same dream, but if it is, I just hope I don't start freaking out even if it was for good reason.
True insanity is doing the same thing twice and expecting different results.

      Congratulations!!

If it's one thing I've learned from slacking off is, if you desire to dream, you'll dream more often, don't desire anything and nothing will happen. I know that statement is vague and has exceptions but it seems to be a general rule. (for me at least)

Hey congrats! I'm kind of in the same situation.. been out of the game for three years because of exhaustion from college, and now I've finally started free summer so wooohooo bring on the dreaming.
