      Dream Death

Aright, so I had this dream where I was poisoned and I was lying there just dying.

My vision went blurry and I started sweating. All of a sudden, my heart dropped, like the feeling when you get really scared. But I wasn't scared, it was the feeling of dying. I peacefully gave in. My vision went black and I felt my body just sink through the floor and into darkness.

My dream then continued in hell

Anybody else experience death in a dream? If so what did it feel like?

Many years ago I dreampt that I died in the bathroom (which even though I was dead was still pretty embarrassing). Then I floated up into the air, saw my body below me, and saw a small glowing orb above me (not a lightbulb, mind you). I floated up toward it and felt happy and at peace. Yah. I dunno. I guess I was more religious back then.

yup, I have quite a few times actualy. Basicaly it felt like a Lucid Dream.
there has been a few times, that I knew I was either in a dream or I was
actualy dead. I had the same experience as a lucid dream, only I was not sure if I would ever be waking up.

Once I had a dream that I lost control of my car. the car began to slide
sideways. then it rolled, and slid upside down into an intersection. then
a semi truck came though the intersection, and just crushed my car.
at the moment of impact, I suddenly found myself hovering over a near by house. at first I thought I had been thrown from the car. but then I was like,
oh my god, I have just been killed instantly, and I am out of my body.
I watched as the rescue people pulled my body out of the car. The whole time I was going holy crap I'm out of my body. I hovered down to the road,
and walked around the people, and nobody could see me.
I had mixed feelings about the situation. I felt a great sense of freedom.
but at the same time I was upset, because I knew my dog was at home
waiting for me to get there. And I was not going to be making it home.
But then I woke up shortly. It was a pretty powerful dream, and I couldn't
get it out of my mind for about two weeks.

Yeah it seems like a lot of it has to do with your state of mind at the time of the death. Content goes to heaven, troubled to hell maybe?

But it seems like everyone died peacefully in a sense

Well in that specific dream, hell was really lame. It was just this sort of prison that you couldn't escape. Like, you could roam around it, but there was nothing to do and no way out.

Like it was less horrible as it was lame and kind of pissed me off

All death dreams are horrible, but the worst are the ones where you know you're going to die with your family. I'm not going into that, but I have had two death dreams I'm going to categorize.

      Suicidal:
I was running with a group of people away from invisible monsters. We saw only their shadows. Finally, I came across a knife. I picked it up, and decided to use it against the monsters. But my fear had overwhelmed me, and before I knew it, I saw the knife facing me... I was still holding it. As soon as I saw the monsters coming toward me, I thrust the knife into my heart, killing me instantly.

      End of the World:
I was in a field with my family, and I decided to run ahead. There were other people, like a convention. I was running, completely feeling normal, and suddenly there was a big boom. Everyone looked around, but it wasn't a nuke... it was white foam spanning over a mile high, splashing toward me. I ran back toward my family, who were already running back. We ran and ran until I came to the building, and suddenly I was slammed against the wall by the foam. I died instantly. I got a view from space and saw that the foam was all over the earth, soon covering it, and I woke up.

All death dreams suck, but for some reason, it's like a load off your shoulders.
In a world where darkness is fear, there's always that light at the end of the tunnel.

Why yes, yes I have died in a dream.

I was shot, I suddently felt extremely tired. It was as if I was awoken in the middle of the night, took nyquil, and crashed from sugar high all at the same time. I eventually fell asleep and woke up (for real) :p lol.
