      Dream Death

Aright, so I had this dream where I was poisoned and I was lying there just dying.

My vision went blurry and I started sweating. All of a sudden, my heart dropped, like the feeling when you get really scared. But I wasn't scared, it was the feeling of dying. I peacefully gave in. My vision went black and I felt my body just sink through the floor and into darkness.

My dream then continued in hell

Anybody else experience death in a dream? If so what did it feel like?

Many years ago I dreampt that I died in the bathroom (which even though I was dead was still pretty embarrassing). Then I floated up into the air, saw my body below me, and saw a small glowing orb above me (not a lightbulb, mind you). I floated up toward it and felt happy and at peace. Yah. I dunno. I guess I was more religious back then.

yup, I have quite a few times actualy. Basicaly it felt like a Lucid Dream.
there has been a few times, that I knew I was either in a dream or I was
actualy dead. I had the same experience as a lucid dream, only I was not sure if I would ever be waking up.

Once I had a dream that I lost control of my car. the car began to slide
sideways. then it rolled, and slid upside down into an intersection. then
a semi truck came though the intersection, and just crushed my car.
at the moment of impact, I suddenly found myself hovering over a near by house. at first I thought I had been thrown from the car. but then I was like,
oh my god, I have just been killed instantly, and I am out of my body.
I watched as the rescue people pulled my body out of the car. The whole time I was going holy crap I'm out of my body. I hovered down to the road,
and walked around the people, and nobody could see me.
I had mixed feelings about the situation. I felt a great sense of freedom.
but at the same time I was upset, because I knew my dog was at home
waiting for me to get there. And I was not going to be making it home.
But then I woke up shortly. It was a pretty powerful dream, and I couldn't
get it out of my mind for about two weeks.

Yeah it seems like a lot of it has to do with your state of mind at the time of the death. Content goes to heaven, troubled to hell maybe?

But it seems like everyone died peacefully in a sense

Never experienced death, but did experience the ultimate feeling of KNOWING your life is about to end.

Needless to say, it was intense, vivid, and upsetting...for about 20mins, then i fell back asleep.

Some years ago, I had a dream that I was on a field trip with my middle-school science class. The teacher and I, and three or four other kids were walking down the hallway of this planetarium when a big chunk of the roof broke off and fell on us. When I opened my eyes again, all the people who had been hit by the falling roof were standing there, but they were mostly transparent, and I could see the piles of rubble all around. I noticed that our science teacher was saying a prayer or something like that, so I copied him, and then came the fuzzy going-to-heaven bit, and I woke up.

I was once given the electric chair in a dream, for a murder I didn't commit.
The rest of the time I walked around invisible, trying to cheer my sister up because she missed me. It was a really nice little dream, actually.

ive died in two of my dreams. Both the same way- a giant nuke going off. I'm not sure really why because im in no way afraid of a nuclear war or anything, but i guess i just got imaged in my mind from movies such as terminator. It felt SO realistic though- each time i had about 5 seconds before i knew i was going to die. It's pretty cool to know the EXACT feeling and exact thoughts that go through your head at such a time...

well, ive been poisoned, stabbed, shot, stung by a wasp a half a foot long, electrocuted and got the crap beat outta me before, none of which were lucid dreams, but i have never died. In fact last night I had a dream I was infected by a type of radiation that made me invisible to my family, and I was chasing after the person who infected me. The story is long, but at the end it was a car chase, but I was in a helicopter. He was (according to the speedometer) doing 200+ and it was a sunny day on a highway near a big lake with lots of people swimming around. The car went through a metal barrier at the end of the dead-end road and flipped over into the lake taking at least a small group of people swimming to the bottom. I jumped out of a helicopter doing 200+ and didnt die essentially. o yea and if you wanna know how it ended, I found an injection that brought me bak to normal. Fucked up dream i gotta say, but it was action packed. like a movie. At the end it explained how the radiation worked and about halfway through I woke up for work. I was soo pissed i wanted to know how it worked.

That has happened to me before. Did you see the nuke as a ball of light hitting the ground in the distance then see the explosion come towards you? For me, when it happened, it stung. For some reason, every time I die, I become lucid. Literally, every time except one. Sometimes it is actually fun. In one dream I was constantly committing suicide. For some reason, the pain felt good. Especially when you get stabbed. The only time I have felt bad feelings about death in a dream was when I was watching my friends explode. I then exploded and woke up. That was the only time I have woken up when I have died.

i have died in dreams two times, the first was like 2 years ago.. it was snowing and the night seems like day, i mean, with a lot of light (A LOT). i remember i dreamed that i was in the garden of my house and walk a few steps into the snow and then the members of my family started watching what i was about to do... i commit suicide and i can clearly remember the cold snow and the red blood in contrast with the white... it wasnt so bad =D i mean i knew i was dreaming so what could have gone wrong... i was like happy xD

and about a week ago... i dreamed that in my country, the army had taken over the government and for some reason i was about to be shot by some soldiers... i feel a bullet that past right through my head.. my nose was full of blood and then all gone black... and wake up.
      again, it wasnt bad.
in my case, i am sure that it must be a thing involving depression and morbo...

I've died 3 times in a dream. The first time I was shot the second time I was murdered ( stabbed) and the third time, which happened recently, my throat was slit I think I killed myself<--- I was confused not suicidal.

The first time I didn't feel anything. I remember I was walking to school and then someone shot me in the back which went through to my stomach while driving by. I was still aware and conscious. I wanted to tell my family that I was alright. Without going into a whole story I didn't feel anything no pain and there wasn't any giving in. I was shot and then somewhere else.

The second time I was running in a forest being chased by some random guy. I fell and then I go stabbed in the stomach yet again. Like the other dream I didn't feel any pain but I remember floating out of my body slowly and peacefully. I remember I kept floating up until I was drifting in space. This time I was pissed off because I thought that this was it, just floating in space?

And the third time there was this guy in a mask with a knife. At one point we were both wearing the same mask and I got a knife. So as I was fighting him off I would get confused about which one I was because my view would switch between the guy and me so when I made a swing some how I managed to slit my throat. Again, didn't feel anything though, I remember that I didn't float right away and I didn't just go somewhere. I was kind of trapped in my body. I was just lying within myself waiting for something to happen but nothing did. After a bit I was sort of pulled out but I couldn't see which made sense because I didn't have any eyes. But after awhile of being out of my body I got my sight back and I had a 'body' and I was perfectly fine.

In both cases which I didn't mention more I felt this overwhelming peacefulness if that makes any sense. Like everything was alright and I had all the time in the world. Which funny enough I feel when I'm at a high level of lucidity. I don't know in both cases I always feel like everything alright now.

I got shot once and dissipated into a featureless void. Not painful.

Wow.. I've never died in a dream (lucid or otherwise) but it amazes me that whether you guys died by accident, suicide or murder, it all ended "painlessly" and "peacefully".

I find that comforting.. thanks for sharing.

Death is such a beautiful theme to talk about.

Back in Germany I had a dream about suicide. Suicide out of unselfishness as I later found out thinking about the dream. Here is what happened: (I adjusted the story line a bit so it would make sense and not take too long)

Three of my friends and I were entering a big eerie dungeon room, the size of a gym, hunting down some monster monkeys with machine guns. That was the part of senseless violence.
After the monkeys almost ran out some leftover monkeys rushed into another room. I followed them, which was not a good idea because in there I found their great defender – a large stone-creature, kind of like hulk, muscular and dangerous, just rocky brown. It tried to hit me with its huge fist so I stormed back to the group in the hall. The creature followed and began attacking my friends.
Then the situation became strange. The rock-monsters eyes and mine met. Instantly it stood still. At least for a short while. Some moments later we figured it out: whenever I concentrated it did the exact same movements as I did but in mirror image. We tried all kinds of stuff now to defeat the beast. For example I moved my head towards the wall and since it was bigger it would actually smack its head on it. But nothing hurt it. The connection became worse and it got more and more chances to hit my friends.
At that point I found a knife on the ground and picked it up. Suddenly it had a sword, too. Hitting it with the sword had no affect and was dangerous since it had to swing its sword right at me. We realized: I had to kill myself in order to have it kill itself. I led my knife to my arm but I could not manage to cut open the vanes, I was too scared. Out of the corner of my eye I saw how the monster freed itself again, my friends screamed, one was hit and flew a few feet through the room. I desperately stared at my arm and wildly slashed it. So did the creature. Waves of blood splashed out of the huge wound with the rhythm of my heart beat getting weaker and weaker. Before I fainted I dimly spotted the creature lying motionless on the ground.
Finally, I saw my dead body from outside and my friends and even more people celebrated.
      The dream continued with nonsense.

Now that I know how it feels like to sacrifice oneself – the dream was just so realistic – I would not want to be in the same situation again. Imagining how Jesus actually went through the same, but worse, and not in a dream, makes me feel very grateful.

When I was a litle kid about 10 years old there was a dream that freaked me out, I was chased by 2 fat guys with miniguns around my house eventually they got me. My death experience in that dream was getting ripped apart with bullets and I found myself drowning in a puddle of blood then I woke up with a crappy feeling. Too much violent computer games for me

But even since I feel that I just cant die in dreams when I get killed I feel like im pretending to be dead so the bad guys wont kill me again. And I actually become lucid when im about to die in dreams and realize that im not gona die but I lose that lucidity cause the dream changes after death.

I've had a few death dreams. Once, I was injected with a fatal chemical by some scientist testing the effects of some new compound. I moped around the streets, and as I died, I woke up.

Another time was more pleasant. We were in lawn chairs watching this giant nuke fly off of the ground in the distance. And then it began falling back down. I felt gravity removed as I tried to run into the basement... Suddenly, we were in heaven. Everyone. My friends, family, etc. Mostly everyone. Even the Jewish people, apparently because "it doesn't matter what religion you follow, as long as you follow it with plenty of faith." It was pretty spiffy... Then I woke up, and performed what I would later recognize as a DEILD. Once re-entered, I began zipping around on angel wings. <3

I have been shot dead by two gangsters while trying to hide in the washing machine in my grandparents' attic.
I have stood on a skyscraper and made it explode, killing myself in the process.

I'm pretty sure I've died more times, but those are the only ones I can remember. Lately, I don't die. I kill or scare away what threatens me.

Well in that specific dream, hell was really lame. It was just this sort of prison that you couldn't escape. Like, you could roam around it, but there was nothing to do and no way out.

Like it was less horrible as it was lame and kind of pissed me off

All death dreams are horrible, but the worst are the ones where you know you're going to die with your family. I'm not going into that, but I have had two death dreams I'm going to categorize.

      Suicidal:
I was running with a group of people away from invisible monsters. We saw only their shadows. Finally, I came across a knife. I picked it up, and decided to use it against the monsters. But my fear had overwhelmed me, and before I knew it, I saw the knife facing me... I was still holding it. As soon as I saw the monsters coming toward me, I thrust the knife into my heart, killing me instantly.

      End of the World:
I was in a field with my family, and I decided to run ahead. There were other people, like a convention. I was running, completely feeling normal, and suddenly there was a big boom. Everyone looked around, but it wasn't a nuke... it was white foam spanning over a mile high, splashing toward me. I ran back toward my family, who were already running back. We ran and ran until I came to the building, and suddenly I was slammed against the wall by the foam. I died instantly. I got a view from space and saw that the foam was all over the earth, soon covering it, and I woke up.

All death dreams suck, but for some reason, it's like a load off your shoulders.
In a world where darkness is fear, there's always that light at the end of the tunnel.
